Damned If He Did, Damned When He Didn't
McCain planned an attack ad even if Obama did visit the wounded troops in Germany. In other words, McCain loves playing his Rove style politics.

So McCain is trying to compare Obama to a celebrity? The Smirking Chimp brings up what everyone seems to be ignoring:
Oh really? Where was John McCain to decry celebrity status when Arnold Schwarzenegger was elected governor of California as a Republican? Where was John McCain when pop icon Sonny Bono, and actors Noble Willingham, Jerry Doyle, and Fred Grandy all ran for Congress as Republicans? Where was John McCain when Dwayne "the Rock" Johnson addressed the Republican National Convention? Where was John McCain to decry celebrity when former actor and Republican idol Ronald Reagan was elected to the Presidency not once but twice? I guess celebrity status is only bad when attached to a liberal or a Democrat but all fine and dandy when the celebrity in question is a Republican. John McCain isn't a packaged celebrity of course, he's a packaged war hero. There's a difference. Right?
Yup - when the Republicans hear of a celebrity running for office they get all giddy with excitement. Just look at the recent rise and fall of Fred Thompson. These people suffer a bad case of "star struck politics", yet they use it as an attack? That's interesting...
Andrew Sullivan also reminds us that McCain had a made for TV movie based on his time as a P.O.W.
Exxon Mobil has biggest profit ever at $11.68B. Don't you feel great for helping them out like that?
Harry Shearer is a genius!
Sam Brownback is furious over China eavesdropping on internet communications. Here he is expressing his outrage to Wolf Blitzer:
Yes - how dare they eavesdrop on people! That should only be allowed here in the U.S., where Brownback supports it. This is another shining example of Republican hypocrisy, and another reason why America is frowned upon by so many in the world. We act like the superior nation, and this "practice as I preach, not as I do" attitude is going to cost us.
Think Progress has much more.
That's what Obama is thinking:
Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, met with House Democrats yesterday, talking about his trip abroad and his observations.
Obama told the caucus, according to an attendee, "Nobody said this to me directly but I get the feeling from my talks that if the sanctions don’t work Israel is going to strike Iran."
Of course if this happens before Bush leaves office, then we will be in war number 3.
They put out this little video of how an Obama ad might look in Germany:
So an ad with a bunch of racist innuendos and exhibiting typical RNC hatred is funny? I guess so coming from the party of closeted homosexuals, criminals and pedophiles.
To Pete Sessions that means strippers and booze! The Senator who was so pissed over a black woman's nipple popping out during the Super Bowl holds a fundraiser at a strip joint in Vegas.
Yesterday we saw how one of Malkin's commenters in her closed community eluded to Jim David Adkisson, the shooter in that Tennessee church, was really not a conservative, but rather wanted to make conservatives "look bad". Well the Knoxville Police have released some of the findings from the search of Adkisson's home:
Police found right-wing political books, brass knuckles, empty shotgun shell boxes and a handgun in the Powell home of a man who said he attacked a church in order to kill liberals "who are ruining the country," court records show.

Inside the house, officers found "Liberalism is a Mental Health Disorder" by radio talk show host Michael Savage, "Let Freedom Ring" by talk show host Sean Hannity, and "The O'Reilly Factor," by television talk show host Bill O'Reilly.
Yeah - those are items you find on the shelves of all Liberals.
Make no mistake - this guy was a nut job and there are nut jobs on all sides of the political spectrum. Even knowing that, you can't help but wonder if the hateful words and commentary people like O'Reilly and Savage spew didn't contribute to this tragedy.
