The Republican Party Cheers Hopes Of Our Commander In Chief Failing

Posted 2/28/09 at 9:56pm by jamie

It's official. Today at CPAC Rush Limbaugh, spokesman of the RNC, restated his desire for our commander in chief to fail. Like I said earlier, the only other group I remember cheering and going wild over screams of the failure of America is al Qaeda.

Luckily it looks like the Democrats aren't going to let this go either. A campaign will be launched to show how the Republican party is now the party of Limbaugh - the very man rallying against our troops.

A Replacement

For years this has been my picture of choice to describe the right:

moran

Today I must replace it with this gem from yesterday’s “tea party” protests the wingnuts held

For those not familiar with the term “teabagging”, please click here when the children aren’t around, then be thankful that those brave Bostonians weren’t opposing a salad tax by tossing salad into the harbor.

For Or Against Obama’s Iraq Plan?

Posted 2/28/09 at 10:33am by jamie

The media is in a frenzy about the Democrats getting ready to “fight” President Obama on his Iraq plan. Of course they are – the media loves anything that might have to do with Democratic infighting.

Personally, I support Obama’s plan. Would I like to see all troops out next year? Of course. But I trust Obama. As matter of fact Obama has given us more reason to trust him than any other politician in history. In his first 40 days he has worked to deliver on an unprecedented amount of campaign promises. So since Obama hasn’t given me any reason to not trust him, I am going to take him for his word and judgment. If he really believes that we need 50,000 troops to remain, then we need that. I want what’s best for my country, not what best aligns with my own political belief.

Also just think back to Bush. Constantly Bush said he would listen to his commanders. For years now the commanders in Afghanistan have been yelling for more troops as that region continues to deteriorate. Bush ignored them, and now we got a bigger mess there then when we first entered that war. So the fact that Obama is proving that he is willing to listen and learn from our military leaders is a big bonus, and something we didn’t see in the past eight years.

But I also agree with the Democrats who are against this plan, and would rather see all our troops pulled out. It also makes me proud to be a Democrat.

Let’s compare this to the recent stimulus battle. Three Republican senators broke with their party to vote for the bill. Were they commended on serving their constituents or personal beliefs that got them elected? No. Instead they are facing punishment from their party.

The Rights Messiah To Address CPAC Today

Posted 2/28/09 at 9:11am by jamie

Rush Limbaugh will be addressing CPAC on it’s final day today. I wonder why kind of reception they will give the man who constantly airs his desire for our President to “fail”?

Yesterday our troops heard from the commander in chief that the end is near in Iraq and were given a date certain when a massive amount of them will finally get to return home to their loved ones. That would seem like good news, yet Rush hopes he fails. If he hopes Obama fails then that means he hopes Iraq goes into the crapper and our troops are stuck there for god knows how long.

Will all the conservatives cheer this?

Will any of them question this?

And a final thought. I know of only one group that would cheer the thought of our President, and therefore our country failing. That group is called al Qaeda. I guess we now have two groups cheering for a demise of our great nation. Perhaps it is time for people on our side to make this argument a little bit louder. Far less worse things were said at DKos conventions, yet the right had no problem going on the television and making these kind of claims about us.

Them Mormons Love Their Porn

Posted 2/27/09 at 8:45pm by jamie

A new study of online porn subscriptions reveal some interesting numbers:

The biggest consumer, Utah, averaged 5.47 adult content subscriptions per 1000 home broadband users; Montana bought the least with 1.92 per 1000. "The differences here are not so stark," Edelman says.

Wow  - I wonder what Orin Hatch has to say about this? Also interesting is that the top states with porn subscribers were also states that voted for John McCain. Damn I can almost see those Nailin Palin videos flying off the shelves.

42% Of Republicans Now Approve Of Obama

Posted 2/27/09 at 4:45pm by jamie

This was after his big socialistic, Robin Hood “take from the rich and give to the poor” speech he gave this week:

Obama's approval rebound is due to increased support from all political groups, but especially from independents and Republicans, whose support had been waning. Over the past week, independents' approval of Obama dropped from 62% to 54%, but is now back to 62%. There has been a sharp increase in support among Republicans, from 27% to 42%. Democrats' support for Obama was already extremely high at 86%, but even this has climbed slightly, to 90% in the latest polling.

Just look at that in graphical form:

I think I just heard a loud scream coming from CPAC.

Why Is FOX Changing Jindal’s Statement?

Posted 2/27/09 at 3:12pm by jamie

When I did my previous post, I was searching for a transcript of Jindal’s comments. The first thing Google popped up was this transcript by FOX News. Same thing on Google News. The problem? It is missing a lot of stuff. No mention of sheriff Lee. No mention of the high speed rail or volcano monitoring. As matter of fact, everything Jindal said that was debunked is not in their transcript.

Compare it to the one on CNN, which is what we saw the other night. Wow it seems like FOX really didn’t like Jindal’s speech – so much that they totally changed it. That really is a new low.

And in case FOX decides to change it back, I do have the full copy saved

LIAR!

Posted 2/27/09 at 2:43pm by jamie

So the man coined as the next Ronald Reagan by Rush Limbaugh lied to the American people in his national debut:

Jindal had described being in the office of Sheriff Harry Lee "during Katrina," and hearing him yelling into the phone at a government bureaucrat who was refusing to let him send volunteer boats out to rescue stranded storm victims, because they didn't have the necessary permits. Jindal said he told Lee, "that's ridiculous," prompting Lee to tell the bureaucrat that the rescue effort would go ahead and he or she could arrest both Lee and Jindal.

But now, a Jindal spokeswoman has admitted to Politico that in reality, Jindal overheard Lee talking about the episode to someone else by phone "days later." The spokeswoman said she thought Lee, who died in 2007, was being interviewed about the incident at the time.

Smooth move Republicans. So your golden boy lied about a story. Not only did he lie, but let’s look at that story again:

Deep Thought

Posted 2/27/09 at 1:13pm by jamie

Isn’t any stimulus package actually nothing but a big pork package? Even Ted Steven’s “bridge to nowhere” was technically stimulus. It takes people to build the bridge, people to make the materials for said bridge and people to transport those projects.

So why do the Republicans keep complaining about “pork” being in the stimulus bill?
