Serious Questions About Sarah Palin’s Incompetence To Understand Short Term History

sarah-palin-bikini-rifleAmerica’s favorite dimwit has taken to the Facebook to once again go after the Obama Administration:

Serious Questions about the Obama Administration's Incompetence in the Wikileaks Fiasco

We all applaud the successful thwarting of the Christmas-Tree Bomber and hope our government continues to do all it can to keep us safe. However, the latest round of publications of leaked classified U.S. documents through the shady organization called Wikileaks raises serious questions about the Obama administration’s incompetent handling of this whole fiasco.

First and foremost, what steps were taken to stop Wikileaks director Julian Assange from distributing this highly sensitive classified material especially after he had already published material not once but twice in the previous months? Assange is not a “journalist,” any more than the “editor” of al Qaeda’s new English-language magazine Inspire is a “journalist.” He is an anti-American operative with blood on his hands. His past posting of classified documents revealed the identity of more than 100 Afghan sources to the Taliban. Why was he not pursued with the same urgency we pursue al Qaeda and Taliban leaders?

Corporate Greed Will Kill The Internet

comcast-nbc-monopolyComcast is at it again:

Level 3 Communications Inc., an Internet backbone company that supports Netflix Inc.'s increasingly popular movie streaming service, complained Monday that cable giant Comcast Corp. is charging it an unfair fee for the right to send data to its subscribers.

Comcast replied it is being swamped by a flood of data and needs to be paid.

Level 3 said it agreed to pay under protest, but that the fee violates the principles of an "open Internet." It also goes against the Federal Communications Commission's proposed rules preventing broadband Internet providers from favoring certain types of traffic, it said.

This is the exact reason that we need net neutrality. It also hits at the heart of what should be anti-trust laws. Consider the fact that Comcast isn’t only the largest residential internet provider in the country, but also the largest cable provider. Cable companies have seen a huge decline in subscriptions in recent years while companies like NetFlix have experienced huge growth. This is Comcast’s attempt to squash the competition and the Justice Department and FTC should get involved right away.

Yes They Really Are That Dumb

idiocracy1Remember when the right thought Stephen Colbert was the real deal? They believed he was really a right wing comedian/commentator and couldn’t seem to understand that his whole routine is making fun of the right. Well those righties haven’t become any smarter since then:

Fox News' opinion website Fox Nation and their readers don't seem to know satire when they see it.

The Fox News sister site re-posted a joke from the satirical website The Onion Friday about President Barack Obama sending a 75,000-word e-mail to the the entire nation. At no point does Fox Nation note that the story is a satire.

The Onion story joked that Obama had "reached the end of [his] rope" and sent out the "rambling" stream of consciousness e-mail that addressed everything from the war in Afghanistan to his live-in mother-in-law.

At this rate the right will make the movie Idiocracy become a reality.

BREAKING: The Hammer Falls

tom_delay_mugshotA little something more to give thanks for tomorrow as Tom Delay was just found guilty of money laundering:

A Travis County jury today found former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay guilty of political money laundering charges relating to a corporate money swap in the 2002 elections.

The verdict came down five years after DeLay was forced to step down as the second most powerful Republican in the U.S. House. The charges also led DeLay to resign from his Sugar Land congressional seat in 2006.

DeLay was accused of money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering. On the conspiracy charge, DeLay faces a sentence of two to 20 years in prison and five to 99 years or life in prison on the money laundering count.

So we now find out that it wasn’t the “criminalization of politics”, but rather the “criminalization of breaking the law”.

Quote Of The Day

NBC Miami has a report of a man pulled off a flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Denver for making too many bathroom trips. This part of the article has me cracking up:

It's unclear if this is was classified as a terror alert yellow or brown, but authorities took it seriously enough to evacuate the plane.

That line right there is a total win. At least we can laugh over the craziness going on with airline travel.

Conservative Voters Want Anti-HCR Congressmen To Forgo Their Healthcare

Posted 11/23/10 at 5:12pm by jamie

John Boehner has said that they are listening to the people, so will they listen to this poll?

A 53% majority of registered voters also think that those who came into power campaigning on Obamacare repeal should decline their federal health plan, and only a third think they should accept it.  Many Democrats have been pushing Republicans to deny their benefits, but among all voters, the pressure is actually by far stronger with Republicans and independents than with Democrats.

When you read the crosstabs, 55% of conservatives say they should decline it. My guess is that the so called conservatives who got elected this year will just ignore this poll though. Maybe someone should ask freshman Rep. Andy Harris if he will change his demands for his government run healthcare now.

The TSA DID NOT Remove A Little Boy’s Shirt

Posted 11/22/10 at 2:24pm by jamie

There has been a lot of talk this weekend over a video of a shirtless 12 year old boy going through a TSA pat down. In case you missed it, here’s the video:

This story got big this weekend when Drudge starting pushing it. Within a couple of hours you would have thought that President Obama went there himself and stripped the boy if you only read the right wing blogs.

Well today the TSA responded:

A video is being widely circulated showing a shirtless boy receiving secondary screening from a Transportation Security Officer (TSO). A passenger filmed the screening with their cell phone and posted the video on the web. Many are coming to their own conclusions about what's happening in the video which is now perched at the top of the Drudge report and being linked to in many other blogs and tweets. We looked into this to find out what happened.

Now It’s Scarborough’s Turn

Posted 11/19/10 at 1:57pm by jamie

joe-scarborough-msnbcFrom the wake of the Keith Olbermann suspension comes this new bit of news:

MSNBC said Friday that it is suspending “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough for two days after he acknowledged giving eight previously unknown $500 contributions to friends and family members running for state and local offices during his tenure at the network, a violation of parent NBC’s ban on political contributions by employees without specific permission from the network president.

“I recognize that I have a responsibility to honor the guidelines and conditions of my employment, and I regret that I failed to do so in this matter,” Scarborough said in a statement. “I apologize to MSNBC and to anyone who has been negatively affected by my actions,” he said, adding that after he was made aware of some of the contributions, he called MSNBC president Phil Griffin “and agreed with Phil's immediate demand of a two-day suspension without pay.”

I wonder how much longer this rule will last? MSNBC has become more partisan over the years and they can’t expect their hosts to not give to campaigns or remember to seek “permission” for every single donation.

A New Round Of Palin Defenses

Posted 11/18/10 at 8:23am by jamie

Yesterday news broke that Willow Palin, the 16 year old daughter of 1/2 term governor Sarah, took to Facebook in a homophobic slur rant against someone who complained about Palin’s reality show:

During the premiere of "Sarah Palin's Alaska" Sunday night -- a boy named Tre who went to school with the Palin kids wrote a status update that read, "Sarah Palin's Alaska, is failing so hard right now."

The comment sparked an intense response from Willow -- who replied on the boy's wall, "Haha your so gay. I have no idea who you are, But what I've seen pictures of, your disgusting ... My sister had a kid and is still hot."

Willow followed up that comment with another that read, "Tre stfu. Your such a f**got."

Bristol Palin also got in on the smacktalk -- writing a message to Tre saying, "You're running your mouth just to talk sh*t."

This sparked the GOP to come to the defense of Willow, writing this off as “kids being kids”. Here’s the statement from Tammy Bruce of GOProud:

“Willow Palin is a 16 year old girl who, like all 16 year olds is going to make mistakes and say things she shouldn’t have. This, however, has nothing to do with Willow Palin or the substance of what she said on Facebook. The ‘slur’ used here is one you could hear on the streets of West Hollywood or Chelsea every day of the week.  Apparently, it’s only a ‘homophobic slur’ when it comes from the daughter of a conservative female leader.  Make no mistake; this is all about destroying Sarah Palin by any means necessary.
