Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin Admits Using Socialized Medicine

How many times have we heard Republicans say that health care reform will lead us to “socialized medicine”? How many times have they used Canada as an example of what we don’t want to be? Well check this out:

Sarah Palin's family use to "hustle" across the Canadian border to get healthcare, the former Alaska Governor said
this weekend.

In a speech in Calgary, Palin called it "ironic" that while growing up in a small Alaskan town near the Canadian border, her family used to sneak across to take advantage of the Canadian healthcare system.

"We used to hustle over the border for health care we received in Canada," she said, according to Medicine Hat News (via Dave Weigel.) "And I think now, isn't that ironic."

Yup – the queen of the GOP used to use that horrible Canadian medical system. She has brought an entirely new meaning to the word hypocrite.

Seth MacFarlane Is A Genius!

Yes I will admit that I am a big Family Guy fan. This past Sunday was a great episode and I knew it would piss off Palin. You go Seth!

Bristol Palin has responded to this:

"When you're the son or daughter of a public figure, you have to develop thick skin. My siblings and I all have that, but insults directed at our youngest brother hurt too much for us to remain silent. People with special needs face challenges that many of us will never confront, and yet they are some of the kindest and most loving people you'll ever meet. Their lives are difficult enough as it is, so why would anyone want to make their lives more difficult by mocking them? As a culture, shouldn't we be more compassionate to innocent people - especially those who are less fortunate? Shouldn't we be willing to say that some things just are not funny? Are there any limits to what some people will do or say in regards to my little brother or others in the special needs community? If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed. All they proved is that they're heartless jerks. - Bristol Palin"

Pretty rich stuff coming from the family that lives for political exploits.

The question though is what will Palin do? Will she go after the network that airs Family Guy. Oh wait! That would be the same network that employs Sarah Palin. Will she tell her employer to get rid of one of their top rated programs? I highly doubt it. So again – kudos to Seth. This was pure fucking genius.

Gee – Ya Think Joe?

Joe the Plumber has finally seen the light:

Joe, also known as Sam Wurzelbacher, told an audience in Pennsylvania this week that McCain "is no public servant."

"McCain was trying to use me," Wurzelbacher said, according to public radio correspondent Scott Detrow. "I happened to be the face of middle Americans. It was a ploy.”

"I don’t owe him s—," Wurzelbacher continued. "He really screwed my life up, is how I look at it.”

In fact, Wurzelbacher's dislike for McCain is so strong that he no longer supports Sarah Palin simply because Palin will campaign for McCain's re-election.

It only took 1 1/2 years for Joe to realize that he was nothing but a sock puppet for the McCain campaign. I guess that beats having to take that pesky plumbing test to become a true plumber.

Schizophrenic Sarah

Yesterday Sarah Palin finally addressed Limbaugh’s use of the word “retard” and as expected, she approves!

PALIN: I agree with Rush Limbaugh. He was using satire to politically correct

WALLACE: He used the “r” word.

PALIN: He used satire. Name-calling by anyone, I teach this to my children and you teach it to your children and grandchildren, too. Name calling by anyone is just unnecessary. It just wastes time. Let’s speak to the issues and — [...]

PALIN: I didn’t hear Rush Limbaugh calling a group of people whom he did not agree with ‘f-ing retards’ and we did know that Rahm Emanuel has been reported, did say that. there is a big difference there. Again, name-calling, using language that is insensitive, by anyone, male, female, Republican, Democrat, is unnecessary. It’s inappropriate. Let’s all just grow up.

As Think Progress points out, Rush used the phrase over 40 times saying, even saying there was going to be a “retard summit at the White House”.

But it doesn’t stop there. Sarah seems upset with name-calling, yet look at what she says immediately after that:

They are kooks. I agree with Rush Limbaugh.

Either amnesia sets in or her personality just switched, because Sarah goes right to name calling. And let’s not forget that name calling was her big ploy while making campaign speeches, calling people terrorists, socialist and anything else she could think of.

One final thought about this. Why in the world is Fox News spending part of their Sunday show interviewing employees? This would be like Joe Scarborough being the big guest on Meet the Press. It’s fine to have them on a panel, but as the headliner? Please….

Palin’s Telepalmer

Talk about being busted. Last night while giving her little speech to the tea bagger convention, Sarah Palin is caught reading answers from her palm. Not only that, but in the same speech she also gets on Obama as a “guy with a teleprompter”.

Obama went to the House GOP and answered questions for a couple of hours, all without a teleprompter. Palin walks into her fan club and can’t answer softball questions without writing the answers on her hand? Welcome to the world of incompetence.

How To Really Make Your Book Sell

Easy – buy them yourself!

Sarah Palin has been using her political action committee to buy up thousands of copies of her book, "Going Rogue," in order to mail copies of the memoir to her donors, newly filed campaign records show.

The former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate had her political organization spend more than $63,000 on what her reports describe as "books for fundraising donor fulfillment."

It would be interesting to see her sales numbers without the books she bought and the ones right wing organizations like NewsMax bought.

Sarah 2012!!!!

Yes we really need Sarah Palin to run in 2012. Just check this out:[1]

A new CBS News poll finds that a large majority of Americans say they do not want former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to run for president.

Specifically, 71 percent say they do not want the former Republican vice presidential nominee to run for president, while 21 percent say they do want her to run.

When the results are split out by party, 56 percent of Republicans say they do not want her to seek the office and 30 percent do. Meanwhile, 88 percent of Democrats do not want her to run. Among independents, 65 percent do not want her to run and 25 percent do.

She would be cancer to the Republican chances in 2012.

Putting Palin In Perspective

To all the Republicans out there who think Sarah is great for your party, please take a moment and consider this:

  • Palin resigned as Governor last July. A few months later she starts a nationwide book tour.
  • She refuses to speak at CPAC and instead speaks at a tea party convention. She would have made $0 at CPAC, but will get $100,000 at the tea party convention.
  • She then signs a multi-year contract with FOX news to be a contributor.

If you believe Palin is worried about Alaska, you or this country then you are sadly mistaken. Her actions in the past 1/2 year shows that Sarah worries about Sarah and no one else. If you still buy into this crap then you would most likely believe it if a hooker tells you that she loves you.

The Winner Of The Pool Is…

Who ever picked 1/11/10:

Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska has signed on as a contributor to the Fox News Channel.

The network confirmed that Ms. Palin will appear on the network’s programming on a regular basis as part of a multi-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Ms. Palin will not have her own regular program, one person familiar with the deal said, though she will host an occasional series that will run on the network from time to time. This person would not elaborate, but the network does have a precedent for such a series. Oliver L. North is the host of an occasionally running documentary series on the military called “War Stories.”

How Can Sarah Palin Stand Up To Terrorists When She Is Afraid Of Little Bloggers?

When Sarah Palin had her final book signing in Alaska Todd Palin put out a list of people not allowed to attend. One of them was Shannyn Moore:

Sarah Palin's Wasilla book signing had a few rules. "Per Todd Palin", three of us were banned. "Public servants" in their police uniforms at a "public event" in a "public building" had a list of "public citizens" not allowed in. For what it's worth, I was an hour away, prepping for my television show. I wasn't even there! Nor did I have any plans to show up for someone signing a book she didn't write, that is chock-full of open and transparent lies!

Shannyn has even posted the documents here. So if Palin is so scared of bloggers, how can we expect her to respond to real threats like al Qaeda? Just another example of someone not being ready for primetime.

“Death Panels” – Politifacts Lie Of The Year

Politifact has named “death panels” it’s 2009 lie of of the year, and rightfully so. There is not a thing in any of these bills that amount to “death panels”, and I have gone through the bill pretty thoroughly and spent most of the day yesterday going back through while merging in the Senate changes. Still no death panels.

But are there?

While the bill doesn’t do anything to create a so-called “death panel”, it doesn’t do anything to remove the current “death panels” that is ran by the insurance companies. I am talking about the practice of insurance companies dictating health care to your physician. Insurance companies still have the power to tell your doctor “no don’t give them this drug, give them that drug”, or “don’t do this test, do that test”. This was a big issue I wanted to see addressed by health care reform, yet it never was.

Let the doctors be doctors and not servants of the insurance company, then we can start to call this health care reform.

Well At Least It Wasn’t A Shoe

smashed_tomato1 Fox News:

A man was arrested for allegedly throwing two tomatoes at Sarah Palin from the second floor balcony during a book signing event at the Mall of America in Minnesota, MyFoxTwinCities.com. reported.

Neither tomato came close hitting the former 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, but did hit a police officer in the face, the station reported.

The unidentified man may face charges for assaulting a police officer, according to the station.

Ignorance Is Hereditary

Evidence now exists that the ignorance you exhibit could come from your parents:

Palin, though notoriously ill-traveled outside the United States, did journey far to the first of the four colleges she attended, in Hawaii. She and a friend who went with her lasted only one semester. "Hawaii was a little too perfect," Palin writes. "Perpetual sunshine isn't necessarily conducive to serious academics for eighteen-year-old Alaska girls." Perhaps not. But Palin's father, Chuck Heath, gave a different account to Conroy and Walshe. According to him, the presence of so many Asians and Pacific Islanders made her uncomfortable: "They were a minority type thing and it wasn't glamorous, so she came home." In any case, Palin reports that she much preferred her last stop, the University of Idaho, "because it was much like Alaska yet still 'Outside.' "

Sarah Palin apparently got her ignorance from her father. I would love to be a fly on the wall at Christmas dinner and hear what Sarah says to daddy about this comment. What’s really sad is that Palin’s “preferred” university happens to be in one of the whitest states in the union.

The Brilliance Of Sarah Palin

I just love this tweet:

spgw

We knew she was a fucking moron, but now she just proved it.

Sarah Palin Responds Regarding Her Birther Comment

Yesterday Sarah Palin joined the ranks of the birther movement and by late night she issued this statement on her Facebook page:

Voters have every right to ask candidates for information if they so choose. I’ve pointed out that it was seemingly fair game during the 2008 election for many on the left to badger my doctor and lawyer for proof that Trig is in fact my child. Conspiracy-minded reporters and voters had a right to ask... which they have repeatedly. But at no point – not during the campaign, and not during recent interviews – have I asked the president to produce his birth certificate or suggested that he was not born in the United States.

That’s a rather interesting statement coming from a person who considered a simple question like “what news sources do you read?” a gotcha question.

Adding… One of the most laughable defenses I hear of Sarah Palin is that she must “grow” as a candidate. She has been in the spotlight for over a year now and we have seen no proof of this happening. If anything we are seeing just the opposite happen. If she needs to grow then she should really start doing it fast because every time she makes a statement like yesterday her maturity as a candidate shrinks even more.
