Talk about being busted. Last night while giving her little speech to the tea bagger convention, Sarah Palin is caught reading answers from her palm. Not only that, but in the same speech she also gets on Obama as a “guy with a teleprompter”.
Obama went to the House GOP and answered questions for a couple of hours, all without a teleprompter. Palin walks into her fan club and can’t answer softball questions without writing the answers on her hand? Welcome to the world of incompetence.

Meet Charles Dyer. He is a former marine and a member of the Oath Keepers militia. On top of that he is a ‘hero’ to the tea party movement and was a featured speaker at the Oklahoma tea party on July 4th of last year. Here is video of his appearance:
Dyer is not in some serious legal trouble:
Police said that when they served a search warrant, they uncovered evidence that now has federal officials looking into the case.
An ex-military man has been arrested on charges of rape of a child and forcible sodomy.
Charles Alan Dyer, 29, of Marlow, was arrested Tuesday afternoon by Stephens County Sheriff’s deputies, said Sheriff Wayne McKinney. Dyer served in the United States Marines in Iraq.
McKinney said charges included first degree rape and two counts of forcible sodomy. It is expected the charges will be formally presented in Stephens County District Court today, McKinney said.
Dyer’s problems don’t stop there though. He is also facing some serious federal charges:
During the search the sheriff’s deputies noted several firearms and a device believed to be a Colt M-203, 40-millimeter grenade launcher, a complaint filed in the United States District Court of Western Oklahoma by Alcohol, Firearms and Tobacco Special Agent Brett Williams said.
[SNIP]
Deputies searched the National Crime Information Center database, according to the complaint, and found that the grenade launcher was one stolen from Fort Irwin, Calif., in 2006. The NCIC also indicated that there were two other grenade launchers stolen from Fort Irwin as they were being transported to Iraq.
According to Gossip-Boy, right wing extremists have already started circling their wagons around Dyer:
Despite the paranoid belief by the Patriot Movement that Dyer has been set up by the federal government, who they claim have had a programmed child make false accusations against their movement’s hero, Gossip Boy has learned that the alleged victim is a close family member of Dyer’s. [To protect the child from retaliation by militia members, we are not going to provide specific details that will identify the little girl.]
And with all this the media is remaining silent this morning. God forbid they have to say anything negative about the tea party or one of its heroes, no matter how horrible the crimes or the danger some individuals pose against our country. Instead John Edwards baby is the most important subject of the day.
So there you have it – a veteran who has become a very dangerous right wing extremist. If only our government could have warned us about this through some kind of report or something. And if only they could put that report out and not cave to screams of right wingers, who have had their feelings hurt (including people like Joe Scarborough). Yeah – only if.

Watching MSNBC this morning I haven’t seen any mention of Freedom Works, the force behind the Tea Party, urging President Obama and Congress to not help out Haiti.
It’s amazing to think about. Whenever there is any news about the tea party, the mainstream media is like a crowd trying to enter Wal-Mart on black Friday to cover the story. Now we have some very big news about the tea party and the media flat out ignores it. God forbid they actually have to give the tea baggers some negative coverage.
So there you have your liberal media at work – ignoring something as horrible as the position Freedom Works is taking against the poor people of Haiti.

The leaders of the tea baggers is showing their total lack of compassion and care for man kind. Pause for outburst of shock. Ok that was quick. Here’s part of their letter to President Obama and the Congress:
Further, any donations to Haiti will only serve as a "moral hazard", in effect underwriting their bad choices. Haiti had some of the highest tax rates in the Western Hemisphere, hampering the natural innovation of its citizens and making it difficult for corporations - today's engine of prosperity - to operate in that country. Their rules and regulations were among the most onerous as well, preventing true innovation to occur. Without such onerous rules and high taxation, Haiti could have been a thriving commercial center able to better withstand the earthquake and its aftermath.
By giving money, we will prevent Haitian citizens from rising up in their own Tea Party Revolution and taking their country back from the Marxists
Welcome back from the la-la-land that is the tea party and Dick Armey. What a bunch of assholes, but I have come up with a great idea. It would help out the millions of Haitians and all those tea baggers, itching to stand up to a government. We send the tea baggers there to live and bring the Haitians here to live. Problem solved. Can we get it done this week?
Adding….These are the same tea partiers that Jane Hamsher and Cenk Uyger want to team up with.

The message delivered at today's tea party protest of the Detroit Auto Show: protecting American jobs beats telling Democrats to "keep their hands off" the economy.
A group of Michigan tea partiers successfully shut down a protest of the Detroit Auto Show arranged by the National Tax Payer's Union today on the grounds that it was more important to protect American jobs than it was to condemn the government bailout of the auto industry. The AP was on the scene at the protest and found just two tea partiers in attendance. That's despite a national call for a rally at the show by the National Tax Day Tea Party last week.
The organizers of the rally hoped to place hundreds of angry tea partiers in the face of White House officials and prominent Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, who visited the show today. Instead, they ran into an online campaign to shut down the protest from Michigan tea partiers who called it an affront to the thousands of Michiganders who rely on the auto industry for a paycheck.
To try and shut down a convention for the main industry of the state with the highest unemployment shows there is a serious lack of brain power in the tea party. It reminds me of when Republicans were saying “just let the auto industry die” with no plans on how to reemploy the approximately 14 million Americans that would lose their job (or 10% of the U.S. work force).

Think Progress is reporting that there are now 16 tea partiers that are challenging GOP incumbents and recruits. Most of the races appear to be in the House, so this is great news for Democrats. Last week it was reported that the NRCC is facing some serious troubles raising cash for the elections, and if they have primary battles to worry about then it will drain the already depleted coffers. I bet there is some bit panic going on now in the inner GOP circles.

That would be Charlie Crist:
Governor Charlie Crist and former state House Speaker Marco Rubio are now tied in the 2010 race for the Republican Senate nomination in Florida.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely GOP Primary voters finds Crist and Rubio each with 43% of the vote. Five percent (5%) prefer another candidate, and nine percent (9%) are undecided.
A month and a half ago, when the Club for Growth began setting its sights on Charlie Crist, I asked how long it would take Charlie Crist to pull a half or full Specter -- that is, pull out of the GOP primary and run either as an Independent or a Democrat. With numbers showing it decreasingly likely that the somewhat moderate Crist can make it out of a GOP primary, decision time might be nearer than we previously thought.
Singer could be onto something here. Watch as more moderate Republicans do the quick party switch and become Democrats, helping to pull the Democratic Party even further to the right. This will really leave Liberals feeling like they have no home, and that will be a very bad thing. I hate to put on my conspiracy hat, but perhaps this is a little known motive to the tea party movement.

In an absolute display of disrespect to the soldiers who were injured and died at the Ft. Hood massacre a Tea Party supporter uses the tragedy to make a threat:
A woman who allegedly threatened the Times Herald of Port Huron, Mich., saying she would take a gun to the newspaper and "do what they did at Fort Hood," is being investigated, the paper reports.
The Gannett daily's Web site stated that a call came into a Gannett customer service center in Louisville, Ky., from a 60-year-old unidentified woman last Thursday.
Hopefully this woman is found and ruled insane, as I would really hate to think that some sane person would engage in such a foolish act. But while we are talking about this act, what actually set her off?
"She was upset about an editorial in Thursday's paper," the Web site reported, adding, "The editorial criticized U.S. Rep. Candice Miller, R-Harrison Township, for participating in a Nov. 5 Capitol rally. Police said the call was made about 11:40 a.m. Thursday."
I wonder if Candice Miller will denounce this threat, or will she just ignore it? If anyone lives in her district then please contact her office and ask how they feel about someone making such a gross threat in her defense.

Spending the day yesterday on the Veterans Day Project, I missed out on a lot of great stories (though I believe the cause was worth it). One of the big stories was how Jon Stewart totally eviscerated Sean Hannity for using fake footage to inflate the numbers of last week’s Tea Party protest outside of Capital Hill. Here is the clip from The Daily Show:
And then here is the point in time when the four horsemen road in, signaling that the apocalypse has already started
I am waiting for tonight when Hannity will probably apologize for apologizing.

This is a priceless move by several House Republicans yesterday:
When it's a choice between strengthening the Patriot Act, or showing up for the Tea Party Patriots, what's a GOP lawmaker to do? We'll give you one guess...
Several Republican members of Congress yesterday blew off votes on the signature anti-terror legislation of the post 9/11 era to attend Michele Bachmann's Tea Party rally against health-care reform.
Why do Republicans put politics and face time above national security? Why don’t the Democrats start asking this question more and more, especially in the coming months?

Here is Rep. Todd Akin reciting the pledge today to the teabaggers in hopes of “driving liberals crazy”:
Notice something missing? Akin forgot the word “indivisible”. I don’t know about you, but when I see a member of our Congress not knowing the Pledge of Allegiance, well it drives this liberal crazy. Great job Tea Bagger!

And the failure in math from the right begins:
After the 9/12 march on Washington, conservatives falsely claimed that over a million people attended, when in reality the closest thing to an official count — numbers given by the Washington DC Fire Department to ABCNews.com — placed the crowd at “approximately 60,000 to 70,000 people.” Though today’s anti-health care reform rally has been much more sparsely attended, that hasn’t stopped conservatives from inflating the numbers again. On G. Gordon Liddy’s radio show today, producer Franklin Raff, who was on the ground at the rally, told guest host Joseph Farah that the crowd is “just as big or bigger than” the 9/12 rally, which Raff estimated “at about a million.”
Capital Hill Police are estimating it at 4,000, and here is a nice aerial photo of the crowd today:
You really have to feel bad for the women married to these wingnuts. I guess they get told every night that 2 inches equals a foot.

So far 10 teabaggers have been arrested today in the Capital Hill protests:
They were charged with unlawful entry (entering a Congressional office and refusing to leave when told to do so) and/or disorderly conduct (yelling in the hallway outside an office) at Room 235 in the Cannon House Office Building.
Room 235 is Speaker Nancy Pelosi's office for district business, not where she conducts her duties as Speaker. That's handled at an office in the Capitol building.
And this really is a gem:
Without those official details, protesters in the crowd watching the arrests were furious. They shouted "Let them go!" and one man yelled at the police that "Martin Luther King" was being dishonored and shouted "Letter from Birmingham Jail!"
Because forcing your way into an office that is off limits to the public is soooooo much like not being allowed in public places because of the color of your skin. Their ignorance really shows their racist beliefs.

Oh this is such sweet irony. As wingnut talker Mark Levin took to the stage today at the tea party protest on Capital Hill the U.S. flag takes a dive to the ground.
