I reported last week about a former oil industry lobbyist turned White House
staff member who, on a regular basis edited scientific reports regarding the
destabilization of our environment so that it would remove some of the
implications of the petroleum industries major contributions to global warming.
The White House in a normal spin tactic, played down the reports of this
happening and coined it as a common practice for many to read and make notes.
Ironically enough the person changing these reports resigned last week so that
he could “spend more time with his family”. He has now taken a job with Exxon.

The G8 summit is approaching. This is a summit of eight major nations to set
forth common goals and work together in achieving missions ranging from poverty
in Africa to the environment.

The Times of London is now reporting that the White House is still continuing
to turn its back to global warming and what scientific research around the globe
has proven. They are now wanting to use their normal spin on the one thing that
sustains our life and if mistreated will be a bigger threat than any WMD or
terrorist group out there.

As an example of this deadly spin the Bush White House is trying to author,
take one simple sentence out of the G8’s proposed statement:

“We know that the increase [in global warming] is due in large part to human
activity”

The White House does not like that sentence. Instead they want it changed to:

“[There is] increasingly compelling evidence of climate change, including
rising ocean and atmospheric temperatures, retreating ice sheets and glaciers,
rising sea levels and changes to ecosystems”

See how they did that? They took a simple but powerful statement that implies
that humans are the main cause of global warming and changed it into a longer
complex sentence that totally eliminates any implications of human involvement.

The report done by the Times has numerous other examples of this and I
encourage you to read it
here.

Everyone knows the George Bush was a made man because of the oil industry.
This does not make it acceptable though to alter findings that have been
aggressively researched by scientists all over the world. George Bush is not a
scientist. He is a politician, and now it is more evident that falls second to
his first passion of the oil industry. His continual disregard for our
environment is killing every single one of us.

Green house gasses don’t discriminate based upon your political party. The
environment is not going to stop sustaining life for Democrats, but spare the
Republicans. I don’t care what race, religion, political party, or social class
one comes from, the fact is simple; when the environment goes, we go. Perhaps
President Bush should look back to a very powerful quote by the late President
Kennedy when he said:

For in the final analysis, our most basic common link, is that we all inhabit
this small planet, we all breathe the same air, we all cherish our children’s
futures, and we are all mortal.

There could be nothing more true. When we harm the environment in America, it
affects the world. If we knew of a country pumping out tons of mercury, sulfur
dioxide or other pollutants more than we are, we would denounce them and do
whatever was in our means to stop it. So why is it that we can continually
destroy our environment and the White House supports it? Well there is only one
reason – greed. George Bush is a greedy man, and he wants to keep building up
more and more money. The scariest part is he is a stupid man also. He has been
dumbfounded by his greed and is now willing to sacrifice the lives of our entire
planet in order to ensure the growth of his empire.

Here you go George, I have a solution for you. When every one is dead, all
the vegetation has died and the planet is just a lifeless rock floating in space
joined by the nine other planets in our solar system, then you can have it all.
You can have everything I own and everything the rest of the world owns because
we will all be dead. We don’t have to worry about pesty heirs or inheritances
because they will all be dead. But wait. Do you have some secret ecosystem that
you are going to live in? Have you developed a magic bubble that will keep you
alive? If the answer to both of these is no, then wake up, now you are dead with
everyone and everything else.

George Bush continually refers to himself as a Christian man. How can this be
when according to the Bible, God constantly denounces greed and talks about
helping the poor and sharing your wealth. The fact is George Bush is not a
Christian man. I myself am not a man of religion, and I openly admit that.
George Bush has done the ultimate insult to Christianity though. He uses it as a
tool to promote his political future. If he were a Christian, then he would
exhibit a love for the planet and for the human race which God created. He does
not! He exhibits a love for his money and power and has now shown that he will
destroy God’s creation in order to gain his lust.

These actions by the President also hold more harm to our country even if the
environment does not go. Once again we are working hard to distance ourselves
from other nations and plant our footing stronger as a world empire. Here is
another fact for you George. Our military is suffering. Recruitment levels are
in the gutter and our troops are over extended. I hope you don’t really think we
can become an empire and take over the world. Even if you drafted the entire
country into our military, we would not stand a chance if all of Europe and Asia
combined forces to fight us. Don’t think it’s possible? I refer you to other
historical events such as the fall of the Roman Empire. We learn from history,
not money and power. It is bad enough that you have been working non stop to
destroy America, but now you want to destroy the world.

There is some good out of this though. Tony Blair is our greatest ally in the
war on Iraq. He held a passion to stand side by side with his friend George Bush
to make the war happen and topple Saddam Hussein. Tony Blair has another passion
he feels very deeply about and that is the environment. George, don’t rock the
boat of the man who could easily throw you to the wolves regarding the events
leading up to the war. Tony Blair is facing the same questioning regarding the
war that you are. The only difference is Tony Blair has a conscious, and could
possibly end up telling the truth when he realizes you have taken and taken from
the friendship and given nothing in return.
