The wingnuts are in full "he did it to" school yard defense mode of Mitt Romney terrorizing a gay high school student. For a reminder, here is what a young Mitt Romney did in high school:
A few days later, Friedemann entered Stevens Hall off the school’s collegiate quad to find Romney marching out of his own room ahead of a prep school posse shouting about their plan to cut Lauber’s hair. Friedemann followed them to a nearby room where they came upon Lauber, tackled him and pinned him to the ground. As Lauber, his eyes filling with tears, screamed for help, Romney repeatedly clipped his hair with a pair of scissors.
Tackled a fellow student, held him down and cut his hair while he was screaming and crying. Now compare that to what the right is using against Obama. This is from “Dreams From My Father”

These two stories have nothing in common, yet the right is making it seem like it does.
Here's the Talk of the Times:
The above text comes directly from President Obama’s first memoir, “Dreams From My Father” and recounts an incident which occurred while he was in middle school. When our president became the subject of taunts from his fellow classmates, he decided to shove a little girl named Coretta. Although he chronicles his feelings of regret, he never does not offer her an apology.
In the Romney story, young Mitt wasn't bullied - he was the bully. In the Obama story we hear that Obama was being bullied and lashed out at the wrong person. Let's also remember that this happened in a school where Obama and the young girl were the only two black students and at a very different time in our history - during the heights of the civil rights movement.
Of course this is what we expect from the very serious and responsible Republicans. Every time something bad comes out about their man or their side they resort to the most mature of defenses , "Well the other guy did it too." Now we find out that this wasn't the case. Instead it's showing the right has no comprehension of bullying or even discrimination for that matter. In fact they show just how immature and thin-skinned they really are.
