So The Phone Companies Admit Constitutional Violations

That is exactly what this is:

Verizon Communications, the nation's second-largest telecom company, told congressional investigators that it has provided customers' telephone records to federal authorities in emergency cases without court orders hundreds of times since 2005.

The company said it does not determine the requests' legality or necessity because to do so would slow efforts to save lives in criminal investigations.

In an Oct. 12 letter replying to Democratic lawmakers, Verizon offered a rare glimpse into the way telecommunications companies cooperate with government requests for information on U.S. citizens.

Verizon also disclosed that the FBI, using administrative subpoenas, sought information identifying not just a person making a call, but all the people that customer called, as well as the people those people called. Verizon does not keep data on this "two-generation community of interest" for customers, but the request highlights the broad reach of the government's quest for data.

Since we also learned this week that the administration approached these telecom companies well before 9/11, immunity must be off the table. As matter of fact a special prosecutor should now be hired to look into this. Any Democrat still siding with the administration on immunity is nothing more than a Republican playing Democrat, or as I like to call it now - a Fascist.

And to all the Republicans out there still beating their chest for the power of unchecked warrants - do you really want a President Hillary Clinton able to look into your phone calls without court oversight? How about a President Obama or Edwards? If this was a Democratic White House we would have already had impeachment hearings going on. I guess it doesn't matter much though, it is only the Constitution. Apparently not many in Capital Hill, on either side of the aisle, care about that piece of toilet paper anymore!
