Once again Chuck Schumer has told the Democrats in Connecticut to go to hell. He was asked this morning if the DSCC will stand behind the primary winner rather it be Lieberman or Lamont. Schumer would not say that and instead said he would not speculate because they are supporting Lieberman in the primary.
What kind of message does this send to Democrats around the country? To this Democrat it tells me that the DSCC does not give a damn what I or any other constituents think. They will protect their own friends than the people who they depend on - us.
This is also going to become a great campaign tool for the Republicans. They talk about a divided Democratic party and there is no better evidence then this. Simple slogan for the Republicans - "We support who our people support". This also shows that Schumer would rather the Republicans stay in control as long as his buddy Joe gets reelected.
Since Schumer started showing his true colors on this, I have refused to send anymore money to the DSCC. I will not send anymore money until the DSCC shows that they stand behind Democrats as a whole and not just their "friends". The DSCC should not even be involved in the primary game, but only focus on the final outcome. In other words - the DSCC would rather waste money to defeat other Democrats then trying to regain control of the Senate.
I urge all my readers to spread the word and cut the DSCC off until either Schumer resigns as chairman or the DSCC lives up to their oath:
Our mission is to elect more Democrats to the United States Senate. We are the largest organization committed to electing a Democratic Senate in the country. From grass-roots organizing to candidate recruitment to providing campaign funds for tight races, the DSCC is working hard all year, every year to increase the number of Democratic Senators
Lieberman has said he would run as an Independent if he loses the primary. Lamont has said he would support Liebermann if he loses the primary. From that it is easy to tell which candidate stands for the Democratic party and which candidate stands only in their best interest. The DSCC supports Lieberman's position, which means they do not support Democratic ideals nor the people of their own party. The only way to show the DSCC that they need to change is to cut off their life line of funds. Instead donate that money to individual campaigns or give to candidates via the Act Blue page.
