Another RightWing Witch Hunt Debunked

Posted 7/3/06 at 4:49pm by jamie

After key members of the lunatic right's internet force took to the binary world this weekend to launch their attack on the New York Times Travel Section for publishing an article talking about St. Michaels, Md. last week, things have gotten ugly.

Glenn Greenwald has been all over this story. From their original claims that the New York Times has engaged in some "murderous plot" to their attempts to ascertain personal information of Times personnel, the right has once again made a bunch of noise out of nothing.

Today Glenn gets the icing on the cake with his post that says this:

Although I haven't heard yet from Kilborn, I received an e-mail from Spillers this morning, in which she said:

Ironically, photos were taken with Secretary Rumsfeld's permission.

Glenn has a great rundown of everything in this post and I encourage all to read it. It gives us a good look at how much the right engages in witch hunts and conspiracy theories. With this kind of lunatic reporting, it is no wonder why the right's web traffic is in a free-fall, while the lefts is in a constant rise.

West will suffer more than Iran - Ahmadinejad

Posted 3/9/06 at 12:08pm by Anonymous (not verified)

You just know this is going to get nasty in the near future:

TEHRAN (Reuters) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday Western countries were vulnerable and would suffer more than Iran if they continued to try to impede its attempts to develop nuclear technology, local media reported.

Speaking a day after it became clear that the U.N. Security Council would take up Iran's nuclear case, Ahmadinejad said Tehran would not be bullied or humiliated.

More Signs Of Hope For Democrats

Posted 10/13/05 at 5:30am by jamie

A NBC/Wall Street Journal poll release tonight shows that a majority want a
Democrat led congress now by a margin of 48% to 39%. This should lead to even
more problems the Republican's are facing with attempts to find viable
candidates for 2006.

The

New York Times
has an interesting article in which they discuss the problems
facing the Republicans, and the hopes for the Democrats to possible regain
control of Senate and the House next year. Should this happen, you can bet that
Bush will be a nervous wreck as he possibly faces answering questions on the
hill.

Whats Happening in Iraq?

Posted 8/20/05 at 10:39pm by jamie

President Bush is starting a 5 day campaign to try and
regain support for the war in Iraq. This is most likely going to be a failure,
much the same way his last attempts were.

In his radio address today, the President did not offer any
new or promising news from Iraq, instead he just repeated his same
justifications for the war that have been the norm since the WMD claim fell
through. This is a guaranteed sign of the speeches he will be making this week
in Utah and Idaho.

Last week at this time we kept getting varying reports out
of Iraq in regards to their constitution. Some reports said it would be done on
Sunday and others said it would definitely be done on Monday. None of the
reports said it would not be done.

Here we are 48 hours from the extended deadline and we have
not yet heard any real news out of Iraq. This is leading me to believe they will
fail to reach Monday’s deadline, or if they do it will be such a rushed document
it will not stand a chance at ratification. Not matter what happens though, you
can almost expect an increase in insurgent attacks starting this week.
