I am actually glad we are still talking about the arrest of Professor Gates. Not only is the race issue being opened up, but there is much more here than people are realizing – the reach of the long arm of the law.

On the race issue, I don’t think anyone can pass judgment on Officer Crowley as to whether he did what he did out of racism or something else. It’s just too complicated of an issue to delve into the depths of people’s minds. Of course if this ends up seeing a courtroom, I think the cards might be stacked against Crowley, and that is by his own hand. In the police report Crowley stated that the 911 caller identified the men as black. The 911 tapes prove otherwise. In fact she said she thought one might be Latino. So why did Crowley put this in the report? A lot of people took that report as gospel, but somehow this key piece of evidence seems to be overlooked.

I don’t think Crowley deliberately lied on the report. I have spent countless hours writing fire and squad reports and its hard keeping all the facts straight in your mind, but if this does end up in court you can expect any lawyer Gates has to push Crowley on the issue.

I worked hard developing this site. I spent countless hours to bring you the new IntoxiNation - now can I have $80,000? I mean it took me about 3 hours last night and 4 hours today to get it done so $80,000 should be about right.

If you are confused, don't be. What I am talking about is the pathetic donation drive going on over at Red State. Currently they run the same platform that I do - Drupal. They need all this money to finish up development on their new system though, because Drupal is so limited and hard to use. Yeah right.

My regular readers know that I do a lot of work in Wordpress. I used to use it for this site, but decided to move to Drupal because I liked it better. I still do work on Wordpress. Just check out Firedoglake or Crooks and Liars for proof of that. I am the lone programmer for both sites. The redesign for Firedoglake took about 3 months worth of work, which was helped by a professional web designed who laid out the graphics for the new site, but all the actually coding I did. Right now I am working on a new release of Crooks and Liars that everyone will love. Me and John Amato have been working on some great surprises that people will love - I promise that.

May 1, 2005 – The Publishing of the Downing Street Memo in London Times

This was the start that really put the blogosphere in high speed. The memo
was published in the London Times, and ignored by the United States mainstream
media for five weeks following. As matter of fact in recent articles regarding
the media’s ignoring of this pertinent document, they are starting to admit that
they dropped the ball.

The Downing Street Memo is an official British Document, or more so minutes,
where the head of British Intelligence, MI6, detailed a meeting in Washington
that took place in the spring of 2002. The most notorious paragraph of this
document involving the pending war in Iraq is as follows:

C reported on his recent talks in Washington. There was a perceptible shift
in attitude. Military action was now seen as inevitable. Bush wanted to remove
Saddam, through military action, justified by the conjunction of terrorism and
WMD. But the intelligence and facts were being fixed around the policy. The
NSC had no patience with the UN route, and no enthusiasm for publishing
material on the Iraqi regime's record. There was little discussion in
Washington of the aftermath after military action.
