Plaform Crashes

Looks like the webmasters over at the GOP need to do some work:

Rebuilding Homeownership

Homeownership remains key to creating an opportunity society. We support timely and carefully targeted aid to those hurt by the housing crisis so that affected individuals can have a chance to trade a burdensome mortgage for a manageable loan that reflects their home’s market value. At the same time, government action must not implicitly encourage anyone to borrow more than they can afford to repay. We support energetic federal investigation and, where appropriate, prosecution of criminal wrongdoing in the mortgage industry and investment sector. We do not support government bailouts of private institutions. Government interference in the markets exacerbates problems in the marketplace and causes the free market to take longer to correct itself. We believe in the free market as the best tool to sustained prosperity and opportunity for all. We encourage potential buyers to work in concert with the lending community to educate themselves about the responsibilities of purchasing a home, condo, or land.

So what should it read now?

The GOPs Latest Ad

Let me set the stage. A dark background with a constant thumping much like a heart beat. Loud crashes come through as you hear sound bites of George Bush vowing to "protect" the American people. This is the start of the RNC's new ad to attack Democrats and it is great.

The highlight of the ad is when the show Senators like Feingold and Durbin and bring up impeachment and censuring. Kudos to whoever produced it because it does capture one.

Of course I am in favor of this ad because it shows that the Republicans have little or no regard for our constitution. They believe a President should be able to do whatever he wants without congressional oversight. Wow how times have changed. A few short years ago, Republicans in Congress were all about being in a President's business. True that President was Clinton.

This ad shows that the Republicans have no intent on questioning the President or enacting their constitutional mandate of checks and balances. It shows that the Republicans are a threat to our very democracy. It also shows that the Republicans are out of touch with the American people - who overwhelmingly do not support this President.

Thank you RNC for putting this out and showing the American people that this country does need a change in November. You truly are on our side (even though you don't know it).
