Vatican Publishes Handbook And Sexual Abuse

Posted 4/12/10 at 10:16am by jamie

The Vatican, for the first time, has published what is being called a “handbook” on dealing with sexual abuse:

"Civil law concerning reporting of crimes to the appropriate authorities should always be followed," state the guidelines, compiled from existing Vatican rules.

“Should”. That is an interesting word. So who decides if it should be reported or not? And if they don’t report it, I guess there isn’t any problem since the Vatican really isn’t saying they must report it.

That’s the Vatican for you – the world’s oldest organized crime family. Actually that isn’t a good thing to say. Organized crime families wouldn’t actively support the raping and torturing of children, so organized crime families are much better people.

Freedom For Ney

One of the Republican crime family finishes his sentence:

Former congressman Bob Ney of Ohio has been released from a halfway house in Cincinnati after serving a sentence in connection with a public corruption scandal.

Ney has served nearly a year-and-a-half of his original two-and-a-half-year prison sentence. The sentence was reduced after he completed treatment for alcohol problems.

Just one of the many touched by the Abramoff corruption. Ask McCain how Ralph Reed is doing.

BREAKING: Rep. Congressman Rick Renzi Indicted (UPDATED)

Posted 2/22/08 at 11:14am by jamie

And the RNC crime family looses another one:

Representative Rick Renzi, a Republican from Arizona, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in an alleged scheme to profit from a land deal.

Renzi, 49, announced in August that he wasn't seeking re- election. He was first elected to the House in 2002.

Two others were indicted with Renzi. The charges in the indictment include conspiracy, money laundering, insurance fraud and wire fraud.

I wonder how his friends feel about this?

"So happy together!"

How about John?

UPDATE:

Huffington Post reminds us that Renzi is the co-chair of McCain's Arizona campaign. I wonder what the Senator has to say about that.

Trent Lott Under Federal Investigation!

Posted 2/21/08 at 2:26pm by jamie

And the crime family known as the RNC continues on:

There are reports that former U.S. Senator Trent Lott is under investigation in connection with an on-going judicial bribery probe. Today's Wall Street Journal is reporting that federal agents are investigating whether Trent Lott knowingly played a role in an alleged conspiracy to influence a Mississippi judge.

The national newspaper attributes their report to "people familiar with the situation." WLBT News was unable to contact an FBI spokesperson in Jackson for comment Thursday morning. Indicted lawyer Timothy Balducci testified Wednesday in Federal Court in Oxford, that Lott's brother-in- law Dickie Scruggs had tried to use Lott to influence rulings made by Hinds County Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter. He said in turn, Lott would recommend Judge DeLaughter for a seat on the federal bench. This involved a dispute over millions of dollars in asbestos legal fees. Lott is not charged with any wrong doing in the case. He unexpectedly resigned his Senate post just two days before Scruggs

No wonder why he resigned from the Senate rather quickly.

How They Say Anything

Posted 6/23/07 at 10:57am by jamie

Right wingers always look at us like we are crazy when we talk about the flat out lies the White House tells. Well here is they are actually the ones who deserve the crazy look.

Think Progress has a video up of last night's Countdown. During yesterday's White House briefing, Dana Perino told reporters this in regards to Cheney exempting himself from the law:

PERINO: If you look on page 18 of the EO, when you have a chance, there’s a distinction regarding the Vice President versus what is an agency. And the President also, as the author of an EO, and the person responsible for interpreting the EO, did not intend for the Vice President to be treated as an agency, and that’s clear.

Sure - that makes it all better. Doesn't it?

But wait! Keith Olbermann didn't buy it and the people at MSNBC looked into this further:

OLBERMANN: No exemption at all for the Vice President on page 18. So we emailed the White House, which referred us to section 1.3 — which is about something else altogether — and 5.2 — which makes no mention of the Vice President. In fact, there is no exemption for the President or the Vice President when it comes to reporting on classified material.

So again we have a White House flat out lying to the American people. True what do we expect from Dana Perino. It was her husband who thought he was above the law and landed himself in the slammer. Just another part of the Bush crime family.

Another Bushy Out

Posted 6/1/07 at 9:42am by jamie

They really are jumping ship:

Dan Bartlett, a key member of President George W. Bush's inner circle and an aide for him going back more than 13 years, announced on Friday he is resigning as White House counselor effective July 4.

In an interview, Bartlett, who turned 36 on Friday, said he had been pondering his departure for months and decided now is the best time to get a less demanding job so he can concentrate on helping raise three children all under the age of 4.

He is the most important White House insider to leave Bush's side since the resignation last November of Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

Ironic that he chooses Independence Day to leave the Bush crime family.

Noe Gets His Sentence

Posted 11/20/06 at 3:07pm by jamie

Just now breaking - the man behind coin-gate here in Ohio, and former Bush fundraiser, has been sentenced to at least 18 years in prison for cheating Ohio tax-payers out of millions. Of course Bush will most likely pardon him before he leaves office. The crime family must stick together!
