The Gadhafi Mentality Of The Right

Posted 2/23/11 at 9:55am by jamie

Jeff Cox is a deputy attorney general for the state of Indiana. This weekend he took to Twitter to go after the protestors in Wisconsin:

On Saturday night, when Mother Jones staffers tweeted a report that riot police might soon sweep demonstrators out of the Wisconsin capitol building—something that didn't end up happening—one Twitter user sent out a chilling public response: "Use live ammunition."

From my own Twitter account, I confronted the user, JCCentCom. He tweeted back that the demonstrators were "political enemies" and "thugs" who were "physically threatening legally elected officials." In response to such behavior, he said, "You're damned right I advocate deadly force." He later called me a "typical leftist," adding, "liberals hate police."

Does one of the state’s attorneys for Indiana not understand due process? If people are threatening violence against legal officials then they should be arrested and prosecuted, not shot. This was totally uncalled for and something we hear coming out of Libya.

And here comes the totally hypocritical nonsense of this moron:

So This Is “Grassroots”?

Posted 4/15/10 at 1:37pm by jamie

It’s funny how over the past year we keep hearing about the Tea Party being a “grassroots” organization. Now we have more proof dismissing that myth:

Just days after the first widespread tea party demonstrators hit the streets a year ago Thursday, Joe Wierzbicki, a Republican political consultant with the Sacramento firm Russo Marsh + Rogers, made a proposal to his colleagues that he said could “give a boost to our PAC and position us as a growing force/leading force as the 2010 elections come into focus.”

The proposal, obtained by POLITICO, was for a nationwide tea party bus tour, to be called the Tea Party Express, which over the past seven months has become among the most identifiable brands of the tea party movement. Buses emblazoned with the Tea Party Express logo have brought speakers and entertainers to rallies in dozens of small towns and big cities, including one in Boston on Wednesday that will feature former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Westboro Baptist Gets Sued

Posted 6/5/06 at 11:57pm by jamie

About time someone did this:

The father of a Marine whose funeral was picketed by anti-gay protesters from a fundamentalist Kansas church filed an invasion-of-privacy suit against the demonstrators Monday.

It is believed to be the first lawsuit brought by a serviceman's family against Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kan., whose members routinely demonstrate at military funerals around the country.

Albert Snyder of York, Pa., the father of Lance Cpl. Matthew A. Snyder, is seeking unspecified damages. The younger Snyder, 20, died March 3 after an accident in the Anbar province of Iraq. He was buried in Westminster, Md.

"We think it's a case we can win because anyone's funeral is private," Albert Snyder's lawyer Sean Summers said. "You don't have a right to interrupt someone's private funeral."

Now I wonder how these so called "activist judges" will rule in this case.

Afghanistan Riots

Posted 5/29/06 at 1:33pm by jamie

I am glad to see how much the Middle East is loving us. We "liberated" Afghanistan from the Taliban and this is how we are thanked:

A deadly traffic accident Monday involving U.S. troops sparked the worst rioting in the Afghan capital since the fall of the Taliban regime, with hundreds of protesters looting shops and shouting "Death to America!" At least eight people were killed and 107 injured, an official said.

Hundreds of Afghan army troops and NATO peacekeepers in tanks were deployed around the city, as chanting protesters marched on the presidential palace and rioters smashed police guard boxes, set fire to police cars and ransacked buildings, including the compound of aid group CARE International. Computers were set on fire and smoke billowed from the buildings, according to an Associated Press reporter.

The reporter saw several demonstrators pull a man who appeared to be a Westerner from a civilian vehicle and beat him. The man escaped and ran to a line of police, who fired shots over the heads of the demonstrators.

A spokesman for the U.S.-led coalition expressed regret for any deaths and injuries, and said there would be an investigation. Afghan President Hamid appealed for calm and said the government "will do its utmost to protect the lives of the people and their property."

We are not wanted in the Middle East and our government can not get that through their heads. The longer we stay in Iraq and Afghanistan the more they will hate us and the stronger that will make people like Osama.

Destroying Iraq

Posted 9/21/05 at 4:49pm by jamie

An interesting story has been developing in Iraq over the
past couple days, and its one that does not seem to be gaining attention here in
the United States. With the Katrina recovery and Rita steaming forward as a
category 4 hurricane, it should be no shock as this information really shows a
state of anarchy that Iraq is now turning into.

As reported by the

Independent
, Basra turned into a bloody bath after a British soldier
allegedly killed an Iraqi police officer. The soldier and his accomplice were
being held in a Basra jail awaiting their trial.

A couple nights ago, British troops mounted a daring smash
and grab rescue to free the two soldiers. Using helicopters and up to 10 tanks,
the British forces smashed through the prison wall and freed their colleagues.
The rescue also allowed approximately 150 criminals to escape the prison.

Mohammed al-Waili, the provincial governor, condemned the
escape as "barbaric, savage and irresponsible". This conflicts with the ministry
of defenses report of the release being “negotiated”.

Basra has been long termed one of the safer regions of the
embattled country. This action by British troops has turned the tables on the
level of safety there.

Today citizens of Basra took to the streets waving guns and
AK-47’s denouncing the hostile rescue of the soldiers. The
Associated
Press
is reporting:

The demonstrators in Basra shouted "No to occupation!"
and carried banners condemning "British aggression and demanding the freed
soldiers be tried in an Iraqi court as "terrorists."

Cindy is Getting Closer George!

Protest campsite moving closer to Bush ranch

Relative of man who fired shotgun offers space to antiwar demonstrators

Reuters

CRAWFORD, Texas - Antiwar protester Cindy Sheehan, whose son was killed in Iraq, is moving her camp closer to President Bush’s Texas ranch.

The piece of private property was offered by a relative of a man who had fired a shotgun in frustration over the protests, a source in the Sheehan camp said. The property owner is also a veteran.

“A neighbor of President Bush’s has offered us his land,” the source said. “It’s got plenty of acreage for us, it’s private land, we would have legal permission to be on it, it’s much closer to the ranch — in fact it’s across the street from his (Bush’s) church.”

“We have taken him up on his offer,” the source added.

Sheehan was not immediately available for comment.

Sheehan was expected to begin moving as early as Wednesday morning.

She is in the 10th day of her vigil on Prairie Chapel Road, which leads to Bush’s 1,600-acre ranch. She calls her site “Camp Casey,” after her 24-year-old son, who was killed in combat in Iraq.

According to the source, the land offered to Sheehan is owned by Fred Mattlage, who is a distant cousin of Larry Mattlage, a man who fired a shotgun over the weekend in frustration over the commotion caused by the vigil.

From ABC
news Australia
:

Hundreds join anti-war protest at Bush
ranch

Several hundred people have joined a protest near US President George
W Bush's holiday ranch in Texas to demonstrate against the war in Iraq.

The two-week-old protest organised by Cindy Sheehan, whose son was killed
in Iraq last year, is being held to call for the withdrawal of the 138,000 US
troops deployed there.

The protest has been addressed by veterans of the military action in Iraq
who now oppose the war.

"I joined because of September 11. I thought I was going to make a
difference and help the situation but after experiencing war, seeing the death
and seeing that violence only begets more violence. an eye for an eye leaves
the whole world blind," veterans like Hart Vigus said.

A counter-protest by supporters of Mr Bush has been held nearby.

"They're getting our troops killed because they make us look like a bunch
of cowards over here, you see," said a Bush supporter.

"I don't want the enemy watching this thinking we're ready to cut and run
because America will fight these people."

Standing outside the gates of Mr Bush's Prairie Chapel ranch, where he is
taking a five-week break from Washington, Mrs Sheehan is demanding to see the
President.

She has said she will follow him back to Washington and camp out in front
of the White House if he refuses.

On Friday, the President was forced to run a gauntlet of demonstrators as
he ventured from his ranch for a political fundraiser.

As Mr Bush's motorcade sped past, Mrs Sheehan clutched a sign that read,
"Why Do You Make Time for Donors And Not For Me?"

Pro-Bush Ralliers Don't Care

Posted 8/13/05 at 4:52pm by jamie

Yesterday, pro-war ralliers formed across the street from Cindy Sheehan in
Crawford to show their support for Bush. Here is one account of their rally I
have received:

A group of about 50 pro-Bush demonstrators from the Metroplex armed with
various sizes of American flags, as well as banners and posters, arrived
directly across from Camp Casey on county right-of-way around 6:30 p.m. Radio
personality Mike Gallagher, who organized the event, led the group in
patriotic songs, a prayer, pro-Bush rhetoric, and thankfulness that they could
openly express their beliefs in America. At one point they chanted "We
don't care, we don't care
.

Oh yes. They don't care. That's a nice thing to go down their and say to a
bunch of parents who have lost their children in Iraq. I just wonder if they
have received the same treatment by local law enforcement that Cindy has.

Houston moms heading to Crawford to
protest war

More protesters from the Houston-area are headed to President Bush's
Crawford ranch.

They loaded their cars and left from the Heights area Wednesday afternoon.

They're upset by the mounting casualties in Iraq and are opposed to the
Bush administration's handling of the war.

More importantly, they say they want to support a woman who lost her son in
Iraq.

That woman, Cindy Sheehan, started the protest. She says she won't leave
until President Bush meets with her.

Sheehan calls the protest area "Camp Casey" after her 24-year-old son.

Officers are keeping the several dozen demonstrators some five miles away
from the entrance to the ranch.

President Bush, your fellow Texans are joining Cindy in the fight now. Are
you going to continue the cold shoulder?
