WHY BARACK OBAMA SHOULD RESIGN. Just for the record, this is what it looked like for a man who made a film that made the Obama Administration uncomfortable:
Here’s the key bit: “Just after midnight Saturday morning, authorities descended on the Cerritos home of the man believed to be the filmmaker behind the anti-Muslim movie that has sparked protests and rioting in the Muslim world.”
Glenn Reynolds is a "law professor". You would think that a "law professor" would realize certain things, like you don't omit facts! For example, they were taking the filmmaker in to question him if rather he violated the terms of his probation. Reynolds makes no mention of that. He totally omits the actual reason/motive for this questioning. Talk about irresponsible. If I were Reynold's boss, I would seriously question rather he has the ability to teach the law faithfully.
And it doesn't stop there. Reynolds adds in this part "from a reader":

Since Barack Obama took the oath of office there has been a rise of anti-government extremists. It seems like we hear about some new group being arrested every couple of weeks. Now the FBI is warning about this growing threat:
Anti-government extremists opposed to taxes and regulations pose a growing threat to local law enforcement officers in the United States, the FBI warned on Monday.
These extremists, sometimes known as "sovereign citizens," believe they can live outside any type of government authority, FBI agents said at a news conference.
The extremists may refuse to pay taxes, defy government environmental regulations and believe the United States went bankrupt by going off the gold standard.
Routine encounters with police can turn violent "at the drop of a hat," said Stuart McArthur, deputy assistant director in the FBI's counterterrorism division.
But the right seems to want to dismiss this threat. Here's how Drudge is pushing the headline right now:
Notice how he puts quotes around extremists, as to signify that that really isn't the meaning?
The Federal Bureau of Investigation has opened criminal inquiries into 14 companies as part of a wide-ranging investigation of the troubled mortgage industry, F.B.I. officials said Tuesday.
The F.B.I. said it was looking into possible accounting fraud, insider trading or other violations in connection with loans made to borrowers with weak, or subprime, credit.
The agency declined to identify the companies under investigation but said the inquiry, which began last spring, involves companies across the financial industry, including mortgage lenders, loan brokers and Wall Street banks that packaged home loans into securities. It is unclear when charges, if any, might be filed.
Another question - what does this mean for the millions the CEO's have made off of screwing the common man? I guess this is Bush's way of putting the people out to pasture that he supported for the past seven years. Things are rough when your trying to salvage a legacy.
The following is not the first story of its type. Every week or so it seems
that one story similar pops up. The outcome might be slightly different but the
essence of the story remains the same.
An e-mail threat that prompted the evacuation of more than a dozen
Brandeis University buildings on January 18 led to an unusual standoff in a
public library in Newton, Mass., a few miles from the Brandeis campus.
Federal Bureau of Investigation agents tried to seize 30 of the library's
computers without a warrant, saying someone had used the library's Internet
connection to send the threat to Brandeis. But the library director, Kathy
Glick-Weil, told the agents they could not take the machines unless they got
a warrant first. Newton's mayor, David Cohen, backed Ms. Glick-Weil up.
After a brief standoff, FBI officials relented and sought a warrant from
a judge. Meanwhile, Ms. Glick-Weil allowed an FBI computer-forensics
examiner to work with information-technology specialists at the library to
narrow down which computers might have been used to send the threatening
message. They determined that three computers were implicated in the alleged
crime.
Late that evening, the FBI received a warrant to cart away the three
computers. According to Mayor Cohen, the warrant allows the FBI to view only
the threatening e-mail message and the messages sent immediately before and
after that message.
How much more will the people of this nation tolerate? How many more rights
will be allow to be squashed by the government in the name of "security". Bush
defends his wiretapping as being a tool to keep American's safe. The strongest
argument, out of many, is the fact that we have no oversight to know when that
power is being abused.
If today's New York Times is any indication, then any American involved in
social groups should worry and wonder if they have been tapped or watched by the
FBI:
WASHINGTON, Dec. 19 - Counterterrorism agents at the Federal Bureau of
Investigation have conducted numerous surveillance and
intelligence-gathering operations that involved, at least indirectly, groups
active in causes as diverse as the environment, animal cruelty and poverty
relief, newly disclosed agency records show.
F.B.I. officials said Monday that their investigators had no interest in
monitoring political or social activities and that any investigations that
touched on advocacy groups were driven by evidence of criminal or violent
activity at public protests and in other settings.
After the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, John Ashcroft, who was then attorney
general, loosened restrictions on the F.B.I.'s investigative powers, giving
the bureau greater ability to visit and monitor Web sites, mosques and other
public entities in developing terrorism leads. The bureau has used that
authority to investigate not only groups with suspected ties to foreign
terrorists, but also protest groups suspected of having links to violent or
disruptive activities.
Just as a computer warning to all my readers, someone is sending out mass
emails across the net today in order to spread a nasty little virus/worm called
Sober.Y. The email are addressed as coming from numerous sources including:
Yahoo
AOL
CIA
FBI
They all contain different messages but all have the same attachment. If you
receive one of these emails do not open the attachment, which should be common
practice for any email user. The FBI has already issued a warning about this:

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Federal Bureau of Investigation issued an alert
Monday about a scam involving unsolicited e-mails, purportedly sent by the
FBI, that tell computer users that their Internet surfing is being monitored
by the agency.
The users are told they have visited illegal Web sites and are instructed
to open an attachment to answer questions.
The FBI did not send these e-mails and does not send any other
unsolicited e-mails to the public, an agency statement said. As many harmful
computer viruses are located in e-mail attachments, the FBI said it strongly
encourages computer users not to open attachments from unknown recipients.
The FBI is investigating the scam. Recipients of these e-mails are asked
to report them by visiting the Internet Crime Complaint Center at
http://www.ic3.gov.
I have received at least 10 of these so far today, all originating from the
same place in New York. They have all come on my personal email account and not
the one I use for this site. If you get any of these then visit the link listed
in the article to inform the FBI so they can better track this person down.
