Iran Wants To Destabilize Iraq

Posted 4/1/08 at 11:05am by jamie

Again - April Fool's:

The Iranian general who helped broker an end to nearly a week of fighting between Iraqi government forces and Shiite Muslim militiamen in southern Iraq is an unlikely peacemaker.

Brig. Gen. Qassem Suleimani, who helped U.S.-backed Iraqi leaders negotiate a deal with radical Shiite cleric Muqtada al Sadr to stop the fighting in Iraq's largely Shiite south, is named on U.S. Treasury Department and U.N. Security Council watch lists for alleged involvement in terrorism and the proliferation of nuclear and missile technology.

His role as peacemaker, which McClatchy first reported Sunday, underscores Iran's entrenched political power and its alliances in Iraq, according to analysts.

All we hear about from this administration is how Iran is trying to destabilize Iraq and works against us. Now we see it was an Iranian general who put an end to last week's fighting. Just another case of believe the opposite of what your told from Bush.

Because The Surge Is Going So Well

Yesterday Bush said he was seeing "remarkable progress" in Iraq because of his surge. Yeah - remarkable progress on the day 9 U.S. soldiers were killed along, with over 140 Iraqi's. So if things are going so well then why are we increasing the surge by 33%?

The number of U.S. troops needed to carry out President George W. Bush's Iraq security plan could approach 30,000, significantly more than he projected in January, a senior Pentagon official said on Tuesday.

In testimony to the House of Representatives Budget Committee, Deputy Secretary of Defense Gordon England said U.S. military commanders in Iraq were requesting varying numbers of support troops to augment the additional 21,500 soldiers Bush has ordered into combat.

"At this point, our expectation is the number of ... troops could go above 21,500 by about 4,000, maybe as many as 7,000," England said.

There are nearly 140,000 U.S. troops already fighting in Iraq, where sectarian violence has thwarted American efforts to bring the 4-year-old war to a close.

Now why are we sending 7,000 more troops when the U.K. is pulling their troops out and trying to say "mission accomplished"? It appears as though the administration is furthering their lies about what is happening in Iraq.

Follow the Anthrax

So while our troops are fighting in Iraq, have you ever
wondered where the anthrax Saddam surpassingly had come from? We all know that
in the end it came from the United States during the 1980’s when we supplied
Saddam with the chemical in order to fight Iran, but we can now trace it back
even further. From this mornings
London Times:

A BRITISH cow that died in an Oxfordshire field in 1937 has
emerged as the source of Saddam Hussain’s “weapons of mass destruction”
programme that led to the Iraq war.

An ear from the cow was sent to an English laboratory,
where scientists discovered anthrax spores that were later used in secret
biological warfare tests by Winston Churchill.

The culture was sent to the United States, which exported
samples to Iraq during Saddam’s war against Iran in the 1980s. Inspectors have
found that this batch of anthrax was the dictator’s choice in his attempts to
create biological weapons.

The discovery has angered some British politicians. Austin
Mitchell, the Labour MP for Great Grimsby, has renewed his call, supported by
126 MPs in the last Parliament, for a UN investigation into whether Washington
broke a weapons control agreement. “It just makes them look more hypocritical
than ever,” he said.

The odyssey of the Iraqi anthrax was unravelled by Geoffrey
Holland, a politics student and antiwar campaigner at the University of Sussex.
The exact batch chosen by Saddam was disclosed in the CIA report by Charles
Duelfer, the former UN weapons inspector, last autumn.

The Chicken of the United States

President Bush is afraid. He is afraid of a grieving mother. Cindy Sheehan has been parked outside the entrance to his Crawford Ranch since Saturday and refuses to leave until he is willing to talk to her.

Cindy wants to know why her son died. He was killed in April 2004 while fighting in Iraq. Cindy just wants to simply hear the reasons for this war from the command in chief. Sadly though, our commander in chief won’t give her the decency to answer her grieving question.

In a time of war, when our soldiers and their families are making the roughest of sacrifices, the President of the United States does not even have the compassion in him to talk to one mother. He can sit there and talk his big talk with phrases like “bring it on” yet he is afraid of a soldier’s mother.

July 17, 1996 was a tragic day in American history TWA flight 800 exploded into a fireball off of Long Island. Circumstances revolving around the explosion led people to believe it was either a terrorist attack of an accidental shooting by our military. In the day’s following the tragedy, those families of victims were getting restless with the lack of reports and the thought that this could have been a man made tragedy.

President Bill Clinton understood the pain the families were going through and decided to adjust his schedule so he could meet with them. This was not a good idea in the eyes of his staff considering people thought the military could have been involved in the tragedy. Clinton defied them and went there anyway. He spoke to the families then spent the time after his speech hugging and praying with them. He showed compassion that we should expect from our President.

Why is it that the Senate Intelligence Committee is holding their hearings in
secret, behind close doors, debating the changes to make to the Patriot Act? Do
they feel that the terrorists might keep up on it and get a heads up on what
could come out of it? Nah..I don't think so. In fact it is my opinion that they
are being so secretive on the changes to the Patriot Act because they know if
Americans found out the plans they have for it, it could cause an up rise of
pissed of patriots in the United States.

Ok we are out fighting in Iraq trying to spread democracy and freedom.
Soldiers are dying for this cause. Citizens are dying for this cause. This
campaign is costing this country billions and destroying our image around the
world. But in a secret room in the Capitol, some of our very own elected
officials, the people we put in power to represent us are trying to shred our
right even further by giving the FBI greater power over subpoenas without
judicial oversight.

The first Patriot Act has already come under heavy fire from groups such as
the ACLU. It is coined as being a reduction of rights in America. Even in
Michael Moore's award winning documentary Fahrenheit 911 he talks about a group
in California being infiltrated by law enforcement and considered a threat
because of their actions. Actions like sitting around, supporting Democratic
candidates and eating pies. These are horrible terrorists in deed.
