Freepers Or Muslim Fundamentalists?

Posted 12/11/07 at 7:02pm by jamie

Yesterday we learned about the poor woman who was allegedly gang raped by Halliburton employees in Iraq, held against her will and threatened if she told anyone. Today we have the less than humans at the Free Republic calling this poor woman every name in the book.

Isn't this the same kind of thing people are complaining about in Saudi Arabia - attacking the victim? I wonder how long before any Republican candidate or wingnut blogger denounces these comments on the Free Republic. Oh wait - they won't. Instead they will choose to ignore this vile filth cluttering up the internet and still support the site. Their silence on the entire story proves that point.

Malkin the Stalker

A lot of chatter is going on about Graeme Frost, the 12 year old boy who gave the Democratic radio response a couple of weeks ago. He was speaking in support of SCHIP. Of course the viciousness of the right has come out on this, and they are making the victim into some monster. Think Progress has a good run down of what has been happening.

One thing worth pointing out in all this. Free Republic choose to publish the address of the Frost's today (I won't link it because I do value privacy). Now we find out that Malkin made a road trip there.

Update 2:50pm Eastern: I just returned from a visit to Frost’s commercial property near Patterson Park in Baltimore. It’s a modest place. Talked to one of the tenants, Mike Reilly, who is a talented welder. He said he had known the Frosts for 10 years. Business is good, he told me, though he characterized Frost as “struggling.” Reilly was an outspoken advocate for socialized health care without any means-testing whatsoever and an insistent critic of the Iraq war. Despite all that, he did agree with me that going without health insurance is often a matter of choice and a matter of priorities. Or maybe we were speaking two different languages.

More Fake Anthrax Letters

Looks like a repeat performance from last year:

The campaign headquarters of Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards reopened today after authorities determined that the white powder found in an envelope wasn't dangerous, campaign officials told The Associated Press.

Edwards said a letter in the envelope contained "some negative comments" and powder spilled out of the envelope, but he didn't elaborate on what the letter said or its possible source.

Preliminary testing found that the powder contained no chemical or biological agents, said Jane Cousins, a spokeswoman for the Chapel Hill police. Further testing will continue for the next several days.

"It's like any high-profile presidential campaign, you're going to encounter threats and these kinds of instances," Edwards said during a conference call before a scheduled speech at St. Anselm College in New Hampshire.

I wonder if this is another loyal reader of Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin. They might even possibly post at Free Republic. Just further evidence of the chicken shits that make up the GOP.

Wingnut Meltdown Continues

On Michelle Malkin's other blog "Hot Air", this is appearing on the front page:

hotairnewsmaxbolton.jpg

Well here is how good that is:

President George W. Bush will make a push to get confirmation for John Bolton as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations before power in Congress shifts to the Democrats, the White House said on Thursday.

The White House formally renewed its request that the Senate take up Bolton's nomination. But Jim Manley, a spokesman for Senate Democrats, said they continued to resist Bolton's confirmation and "he is unlikely to get a vote any time soon."

For more right wing funnies, head on over to this page at HotAir, where you get such hot air as this:

Update: I like this theory at Free Republic:

Cheney is resigning; Rumsfeld nominated to replace him...

Oh the meltdown continues within the wingnut blogosphere.

So Why Is Corsi So Interested In Ohio?

Posted 10/19/06 at 2:00pm by jamie

Yesterday news broke of how Blackwell has taken a new low in his dead run for Governor. They are now (and once again) making claims that Strickland is gay and comparing Strickland to Mark Foley because of a former staffer Strickland had who was convicted of a misdemeanor for exposing himself to minors.

One of the key figures behind this new attack is Jerome Corsi. Corsi gained national attention during the 2004 election when he co-authored "Unfit for Command", the book that was swift boating Kerry. Corsi has also been a highly controversial figure:

In August 2004, during Corsi's collaboration with the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, the liberal website Media Matters for America reposted a number of anti-Muslim, anti-Catholic, and anti-gay comments [1] made by Corsi at the forum threads of the conservative website Free Republic, dating from 2001 through 2004

So why is this man, who has always been on the national stage, now becoming so interested in the race for Ohio Governor? The actions of the Blackwell campaign and Corsi could put them in legal trouble. The records of Strickland's former staffer were sealed by a court in 2002, so now the question is raised of how they got this information.

Perhaps people need to start asking why Corsi is so involved? Strickland is ahead by a 2-1 margin and Blackwell has never been ahead in the polls. Even the National Republican Governors Association has written off this race as a loss for them. Could Corsi be giving payback to Blackwell for delivering Bush Ohio in 2004? Why else would he be risking legal problems for such a losing campaign?
