Bachmann’s Latest Insult Back Fires

Posted 4/29/09 at 11:09am by jamie

The dipshit of Minnesota is back in the news. Here’s the one and only Michele Bachmann:

BACHMANN: I find it interesting that it was back in the 1970s that the swine flu broke out then under Democrat President Jimmy Carter. And I'm not blaming this on President Obama, I just think it is an interesting coincidence.

But as Think Progress points out, that outbreak in the 70’s happened in February of 1976, when Republican Gerald Ford was President.

Bachmann is trying to turn this possible pandemic into a political game with totally wrong facts. That’s what happens when she tries to play with the big kids.

Note to the Media - Oversight is not Payback!

Posted 1/5/07 at 4:28pm by jamie

Last night during Anderson Cooper, I finally had it. I heard the following statement for the millionth time yesterday and blew up:

Will the Democrats start investigations to get back at Republicans?

Since when is oversight, as provided by the Constitution, some sort of “payback”? This is the new meme the so-called “liberal” media is using. They are already making it sound like any investigations the Democrats launch will be strictly for payback purposes.

This is not just insulting to the Democrats, but also to the very process of our democracy. During the 90’s, the media never coined the 50+ investigations into Clinton as “payback”. Now it is?

The Iraq war has gone on longer than World War 2. To make matters even worse, the Iraq war has seen less oversight than any other war in the history of our country. Don’t the 3,000 American soldiers and countless Iraqi’s who have lost their lives in this war deserve some serious attention from our Congress? This attention should have been given time and time again, but the Republicans refused to do so. The American people realized this gross negligence by one branch of our government, and voted to change that branch. If the Democrats don’t investigate, then they will be as guilty as the Republicans of ignoring their constitutional duty.

We hear constantly of some sort of “liberal bias” in our media. Well this new meme proves that “liberal bias” is nothing more than a myth. The media has been in Iraq and reporting how horrible it is, yet they want to make it sound like some sort of high-school game of “payback” if the Democrats do about the only thing they really can – hold investigations?

POLL: Most Believe Libby Intentionally Lied

Posted 11/5/05 at 6:07pm by jamie

A new poll by Survey USA
shows that most people believe that Libby was told to lie during his testimony.
The question and results are as follows:

Based on what you know now, which of the following statements about
Lewis "Scooter" Libby do you think is true?

Lied because he was told to 34%
Lied on own initiative 29%
Misled accidentally 13%
Did not lie 12%
Not sure 12%

(this poll was conducted on 11/04/2005 by a sampling of 1200 adults
and has a margin of +/- 2.9%)

At first glance, you get the impression that people are believing that
someone ordered Libby to lie. This impression is of course the correct one, but
there is something else in this poll that really stands out. 63% of the
respondents feel that he did actually lie. That should put the administration
less at ease considering a majority now feel he did actually lie intentionally.

His lawyer is planning a "lack of memory" defense. The argument is going to
be that he talks to so many people in a day how could he possibly remember who
he said what to. By the results of this survey, only 13% would believe that
defense.

A Closer Look At Presidential Approval Ratings

Posted 7/30/05 at 5:52am by jamie

While we are not near the end of President Bush's time in the
Oval Office (very unfortunate), his latest approval rating shows him as being in
the dump. I decided to look at some previous polling data for past President's
and found some interesting numbers. While searching, the only resource I could
find was ABC who keeps a nice "poll vault" on their site. The following is the
approval rating of President's as they left office.
