While Trying To Impeach Clinton - Foley Was On The Prowl

Posted 10/5/06 at 3:55pm by jamie

This shows you what the Republican controlled House is really all about:

An Atlanta man told a local television station and newspaper that former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record) sent him sexually suggestive messages after he served as a congressional page 10 years ago.

Tyson Vivyan, 26, of Buckhead told WAGA-TV in a Wednesday interview that Foley began sending him instant messages about a month or two after his nine-month stint as a page ended in June 1997

Vivyan told the station that when he was a congressional page in 1996 and 1997 he barely spoke to Foley. But after he left the program - when he was 17 years old - Vivian says they had contact via e-mail about things he says where inappropriate.

"He somehow got ahold of my online identity on AOL and began sending me sexually illicit ims," Vivyan said in the TV interview.

Vivyan said he became upset when he learned that the messages were from Foley.

I wonder how Foley got this guy's AOL screen name? Sounds almost skalerish if you ask me. Oh but Clinton getting a blow job from an adult was more important.

Foley Still Using His AOL Screen Name

Posted 10/3/06 at 4:40pm by jamie

From Raw Story:

Congressman Mark Foley (R-FL) was still using the America Online screen name now associated with attempts to solicit underage boys, RAW STORY has learned.

As recently as 10:50 AM EST today, users of the AOL Instant messaging were surprised to find Foley signed briefly onto the chat service, using the screen name Maf54.

The login was used in now-public emails and instant messages with underage boys.

In a lot of these cases, law enforcement will use that screen name to try and engage in conversations with other possible victims. I doubt this is the case now, as the entire country knows who MaF54 is. What is shocking to me is that his attorney has not advised him to just stay off the computer.

I am sure that Foley's name is now one of the most popular name on AOL friends lists across the globe.

Foley Resigns (updated)

Posted 9/29/06 at 7:25pm by jamie

A day after the scandal breaks of Rep. Mark Foley (R-Fl) sending questionable emails to a 16 year old boy, he turns in his resignation to Congress. This was considered a "safe seat" for the GOP this fall. Considering how quickly Foley resigned, there must be a lot more to this sick tale.

UPDATE:

Cnn just reported that sources have told them his decision was made because he feared more emails might surface. If there are other ones out there, they must be much worse than the ones already posted. Aravosis has a copy of all the emails.

UPDATE 2:

An interesting tidbit. In July of this year, it was Foley who introduced "sweeping" legislation against internet child pornogrpahy. This happens all to much. The people who appear to be trying and protect children, are in fact the ones who may be preying on them.

UPDATE 3:

Wow it does get worse. From ABC:

Internet At Risk

Posted 2/6/06 at 6:41pm by jamie

The Nation has a very interesting article that exposes what the
telecommunication giants are trying to do behind are backs. According to the
article, they are lobbying for the current legislation regulating their industry
to be reduced so that they can set up a "pay to play" system. What that means is
you will be charged for such things as emails, instant messages, streaming
media, anything you do online as well as having a monthly fee.

The other scary thought of this is the data mining needed for such a program.
The companies can't just blindly charge you without having it itemized. That
means the internet providers will keep records of every thing you do online and
even expose our habits and lives to a greater extent than they are now.

I urge you to read the article in full and contact your representatives to
urge they defeat this measure. If this happens then the internet as we know it
is in danger.
