Again - Watch Out For Her

Posted 7/6/11 at 2:13pm by jamie

A new poll, this time out of New Hampshire:

When PPP polled New Hampshire in April Michele Bachmann was stuck at 4%. She's gained 14 points over the last three months and now finds herself within single digits of Mitt Romney. Romney continues to lead the way in the state with 25% to 18% for Bachmann, 11% for Sarah Palin, 9% for Ron Paul, 7% for Rick Perry and Herman Cain, 6% for Jon Huntsman and Tim Pawlenty, and 4% for Newt Gingrich.

Ironically I still see a lot of people on the left, laughing off Bachmann as some sort of joke. I really hope they stop it soon.

Yes They Really Are That Dumb

Posted 11/27/10 at 8:50am by jamie

idiocracy1Remember when the right thought Stephen Colbert was the real deal? They believed he was really a right wing comedian/commentator and couldn’t seem to understand that his whole routine is making fun of the right. Well those righties haven’t become any smarter since then:

Fox News' opinion website Fox Nation and their readers don't seem to know satire when they see it.

The Fox News sister site re-posted a joke from the satirical website The Onion Friday about President Barack Obama sending a 75,000-word e-mail to the the entire nation. At no point does Fox Nation note that the story is a satire.

The Onion story joked that Obama had "reached the end of [his] rope" and sent out the "rambling" stream of consciousness e-mail that addressed everything from the war in Afghanistan to his live-in mother-in-law.

At this rate the right will make the movie Idiocracy become a reality.

Washington Post Displays Total Idiocy

Posted 12/4/09 at 5:10pm by jamie

This correction from the WaPo takes the cake:

A Nov. 26 article in the District edition of Local Living incorrectly said a Public Enemy song declared 9/11 a joke. The song refers to 911, the emergency phone number.

I didn’t see the original article and it now has removed the reference. On top of that the WaPo blocks caching so I can’t find caches on archives.org or Google.

The author of the article should really be ashamed at this. It shows what happens when you have writers who put assumption above facts.

Matt Drouchebag

Posted 7/10/09 at 1:30pm by jamie

Drudge is pushing this right wing rumor that President Obama was checking out some 16 year olds ass while at the G8:

mdbo16

Oh and here’s the really bad part. That “Second Stimulus Package” is a joke referring to the picture that links to the picture on Yahoo. Even 6 out of 7 of Drudge’s top headlines talk about this:

md162

The problem with it? It’s all fake. Jake Tapper even has video proving this was not what Obama was doing.

Even if Obama was checking out her ass, do the Republicans really want to get into this, especially with John Ensign, Mark Sanford, Mark Foley, Larry Craig, Ted Haggard, Newt Gingrich, and all the other ones I don’t feel like mentioning? Oh please, let’s go there and really expose Matt Drudge for the non-news man he is, plus the GOP for the hypocrites they are.

More From The GOP Racism Files

Posted 6/15/09 at 7:56am by jamie

And wow are these files getting big. Our latest is SC GOP activist Rusty DePass, who decided say that an escaped gorilla was an ancestor of Michelle Obama’s:

DePass did apologize, but that doesn’t excuse the hidden racism in this guy. To be able to make a knee jerk “joke” like this is telling of the person’s true feelings.

If the Republican Party wants to break away from being the party of “old white guys” then they need to forcefully and very publically denounce comments like this. Instead they choose the path of ignore, which of course leads people to believe its acceptance. And comments like this are not acceptable by any mainstream standard today.

So Souter’s Retiring

Posted 5/1/09 at 8:00am by jamie

I’m sure the right is outraged over Supreme Court Justice David Souter announcing his retirement only a few months into a Democratic administration. They probably view it as the final deception by the George H.W. Bush choice who turned out to be more to the left than right. Now we get the media frenzy over “who will Obama pick”.

This pick should be really interesting to watch, as I am sure President Obama will be much more hands on than previous Presidents. First off we have a President who is educated in Constitutional law, so his pick will be based largely upon a legal belief in the Constitution instead of an ideological one. Think back to George Bush and when the person he thought was the best legal mind in the country happened to be Harriet Miers. Not only did the left laugh her nomination out, but the right did also. It was an ideological pick, trying to turn the Supreme Court into an arm of the GOP.

So we got a President now who accepts the court as a third and equal branch of government and will respect that. President Obama’s pick will be an interesting one to watch and not a joke like George Bush.

School Yard Legislating

Posted 3/27/09 at 9:52pm by jamie

Again – any wonder why Republicans are in the minority? If there still is, then check this out:

To clarify:

Budget Committee Chairman Kent Conrad (D-N.D.) was on the receiving end of this one, after telling Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), "Oh, you are good."

"Well, your wife said the same thing," Grassley responded.

Does that mean we are going into the “I'm rubber, you’re glue” secret session next? Oh and what does this say about the party of “family values” when they sit there and joke about extramarital affairs?

Rasmussen – The Joke Of All Polls

Posted 3/4/09 at 3:25pm by jamie

Check out this latest Rasmussen headline:

Just 11% of Republicans Say Limbaugh Is Their Party’s Leader

Now check out the wording:

rasrushpoll

“he says jump and they say how high”. What poll in history can you remember phrasing a question like that, let alone flat out calling him the “leader of the party”.

When you look at this crappy attempt to push poll by Rasmussen, then see that 11% of Republicans and almost 1/3 of the total respondents still agree then there is no doubt – Rush Limbaugh is running the Republican party.

Cheney And Gonzo Get Indicted

Posted 11/18/08 at 7:03pm by jamie

cheney_in_jail_crop_234x224 Very, very interesting:

A South Texas grand jury has indicted Vice President Dick Cheney and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales on charges related to the alleged abuse of prisoners in Willacy County's federal detention centers.

The indictment criticizes Cheney's investment in the Vanguard Group, which holds interests in the private prison companies running the federal detention centers. It accuses Cheney of a conflict of interest and "at least misdemeanor assaults" on detainees by working through the prison companies.

Gonzales is accused of using his position while in office to stop an investigation into abuses at the federal detention centers.

Sadly I don’t see this going anywhere. Justice is a joke in the U.S.

You Think Its A Joke But Its Not

Posted 11/1/08 at 4:52pm by jamie

And this is really her:

MONTREAL — A Quebec comedy duo notorious for prank calls to celebrities and heads of state has reached Sarah Palin, convincing the Republican vice-presidential nominee she was speaking with French President Nicolas Sarkozy. In the interview, which lasts about six minutes, Palin and the pranksters discuss politics, pundits, and the dangers of hunting with current vice-president Dick Cheney.

Classic!

Dropping Eaves On The Military

Posted 10/9/08 at 2:03pm by jamie

The NSA wouldn't spy on phone calls unless they were a threat to national security - right? Guess again:

Despite pledges by President George W. Bush and American intelligence officials to the contrary, hundreds of US citizens overseas have been eavesdropped on as they called friends and family back home, according to two former military intercept operators who worked at the giant National Security Agency (NSA) center in Fort Gordon, Georgia.

"These were just really everyday, average, ordinary Americans who happened to be in the Middle East, in our area of intercept and happened to be making these phone calls on satellite phones," said Adrienne Kinne, a 31-year old US Army Reserves Arab linguist assigned to a special military program at the NSA's Back Hall at Fort Gordon from November 2001 to 2003.

Kinne described the contents of the calls as "personal, private things with Americans who are not in any way, shape or form associated with anything to do with terrorism."

She said US military officers, American journalists and American aid workers were routinely intercepted and "collected on" as they called their offices or homes in the United States.

So they do this for enjoyment and some comic relief? I don't take our constitution as being some kind of joke, yet people charged with protecting this country from another 9/11 do. If they "hate us for our freedoms", then these people just gave Osama another victory in the war on terror.

Post-Debate Thoughts (updated)

Posted 10/2/08 at 11:33pm by jamie

My God could Gwen Ifill have been any more slanted towards Biden? Ok - had to get that little joke out of my system.

Despite having one hell of a cold, I managed to watch the whole thing. Honestly, it was exactly what I expected it to be. No massive screw ups from either candidate. One small thing I did notice was that Palin was looking at an awful lot of notes while answering. Perhaps I picked that up since I was watching and not trying to live blog it.

I don't see tonight's performances helping or hurting either campaign significantly. It was basically a wash. Palin may have calmed some nerves on the right, but she didn't bring anyone over. The same with Biden and his known history of gafffs. I do however think Palin fell flat on her face when she tried to play Reagan with her "there you go again Joe" line. Watching the reaction thing on CNN, it appears the focus group also thought the same thing.

So I am sure people on the left will be upset the Palin didn't totally implode, but that's not a problem. She now has a month of doing interviews and more time for Couric style blunders with no more debates to try and recoup a little comfort amongst the population.

Also I notice the polls over all are showing that Biden won. I have to agree. Yeah I am somewhat partial, but putting that aside, I saw answers out of Biden with great substance. I didn't see that so much out of Palin. It also helps restore a little faith in the American electorate since it appears they may have seen the same thing.

UPDATE:

Why Didn't John McCain Speak On The Senate Floor Last Night?

Posted 10/2/08 at 9:42am by jamie

During debate for the bailout, McCain didn't speak. Instead he entered into record a prepared statement. Barack Obama spoke for 13 minutes and all the networks covered it. The same would have happened for McCain, so why did he pass up this free PR?

I was skeptical about the whole "drooping eye" thing about McCain. That could have been something as simple as a back tooth really bothering him. You got a lot of nerves up there, and I have experienced the same thing before from a tooth that is messed up.

Then a few seconds after that happened, John McCain went to leave the stage. He was obviously confused as he walked back and forth until someone escorted him of. John McCain is a lot like George Bush in the sense that situations like that merit a little humor at the cost of ones self. A goofy, playful face to the crowd or quick joke, which McCain is good at. None of that happened.

McCain also gave that interview yesterday with the Des Moines Register, in which an angry John McCain peeked his head out. Not very presidential at all.

Given all that happened with McCain just yesterday, there are now serious questions about his health. The questions are growing around the internet and should bleed over to the traditional media in short time. The McCain campaign could easily put an end to these rumors of his well being by releasing McCain's medical records, but they won't. Why not? Is their something they are hiding? It sure sounds like it.

Even The WSJ Digs Up Troopergate Dirt

Posted 9/11/08 at 9:03am by jamie

Pretty bad when a Murdoch company is now going after the right's golden child:

An informal adviser who has counseled Gov. Sarah Palin on ethics issues urged her in July to apologize for her handling of the dismissal of the state's public safety commissioner and warned that the matter could snowball into a bigger scandal.

He also said, in a letter reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, that she should fire any aides who had raised concerns with the chief over a state trooper who was involved in a bitter divorce with the governor's sister.

Again - did McCain vet her, or do they really thing the highest offices in this land are nothing but a joke?
