A New Round Of Palin Defenses

Posted 11/18/10 at 8:23am by jamie

Yesterday news broke that Willow Palin, the 16 year old daughter of 1/2 term governor Sarah, took to Facebook in a homophobic slur rant against someone who complained about Palin’s reality show:

During the premiere of "Sarah Palin's Alaska" Sunday night -- a boy named Tre who went to school with the Palin kids wrote a status update that read, "Sarah Palin's Alaska, is failing so hard right now."

The comment sparked an intense response from Willow -- who replied on the boy's wall, "Haha your so gay. I have no idea who you are, But what I've seen pictures of, your disgusting ... My sister had a kid and is still hot."

Willow followed up that comment with another that read, "Tre stfu. Your such a f**got."

Bristol Palin also got in on the smacktalk -- writing a message to Tre saying, "You're running your mouth just to talk sh*t."

This sparked the GOP to come to the defense of Willow, writing this off as “kids being kids”. Here’s the statement from Tammy Bruce of GOProud:

“Willow Palin is a 16 year old girl who, like all 16 year olds is going to make mistakes and say things she shouldn’t have. This, however, has nothing to do with Willow Palin or the substance of what she said on Facebook. The ‘slur’ used here is one you could hear on the streets of West Hollywood or Chelsea every day of the week.  Apparently, it’s only a ‘homophobic slur’ when it comes from the daughter of a conservative female leader.  Make no mistake; this is all about destroying Sarah Palin by any means necessary.

Time For Turd Blossom To Worry

Every day seems to bring new stories of how Rove is closer to being indicted in the Plame case. Take this from today's LA Times:

Special prosecutor Patrick J. Fitzgerald is believed to be considering perjury or obstruction charges against Rove or charges that he offered misstatements to investigators.

A grand jury in the case indicted former White House aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby in October on perjury and obstruction of justice charges. Libby's trial is to begin in January.

A source said that Fitzgerald is interested in matters that have arisen since Rove last appeared before the grand jury in October. Today's appearance is believed to be Rove's fifth before the grand jury.

Rove is believed to have headed off a possible indictment last fall after his attorney offered to Fitzgerald a new explanation for why Rove waited a year to tell investigators about a conversation he had with Time magazine correspondent Matt Cooper about Plame.

What is interesting is the main stream media is now reporting what we have known for months. We would read reports by people such as Jason Leopold and knew what was coming. The right would dismiss them as "left wing smears". Well I hate to tell you right wingers (ok no I don't) but this wasn't smearing, it was reporting fact. It seems the left is taking pride in knowing what is going on in our country and won't bow down to GOP talking points or Administration mouth pieces.

Funny how we are now unpatriotic to holding our leaders to a higher level of accountability. The Republicans sure didn't have any problems going after Clinton and calling him a liar publicly. I guess our nation is 100% unpatriotic by Republican standards.

Choosing The Best Poll For You

Posted 11/13/05 at 8:29pm by jamie

Rasmussen
polling has a new poll out that is putting Bush at a 46% approval rating. This
of course is sending the pundits into a glory spin.
Newsmax
has already picked up on this poll and is calling it Bush's rebound.

So why does Rasmussen put Bush so high. Well
let's look at the break down of responses:

Strongly Approve  24%
46%
Somewhat Approve  22%
Somewhat Disapprove  15%
53%
Strongly Disapprove 38%

This is an example of how you can manipulate a poll. Most pollsters ask
simply if you approve or disapprove of the President's job. This of course adds
an extra factor into the data. If this question was asked with only the two
options chances are his approval rating would be much lower.

It should also be noted that Rasmussen's lowest rating for Bush has
only been 43%. His approval rating was also this high a month ago during the
Mier's nomination and all other problems.  Their numbers are way off base
from all the other main stream polls.

Of course this doesn't sway the opinion of sites like NewsMax. They even
praise this as being a more reliable poll over
Newsweek. Here
is their explanation why:

Don't Blame U.S. Media For Burning Corpses Story

Posted 10/23/05 at 5:37pm by jamie

It seems that the United States media is once again to blame. As Rumsfeld
addressed reporters yesterday about the allegation of U.S. forces burning
Taliban corpses in Afghanistan he made it clear that he was upset this story was
getting reported. Take this quote from today's
Chicago Sun
Times
:

''We also recognize the damage that can be done by the allegations alone,
if they're not true, or if there's some explanation of some sort. But,
that's the world we live in,''

Also, this quote which appeared in a

Reuters
article makes it seem as though  Rumsfeld is trying to dismiss
it as a story conjured up by the main stream media.

"My hope is that the commanders that are responsible for their troops
will find ways to accelerate the process that they have to go through, still
providing for the rights of the people who may or may not be accused of
something,"

There's a catch though. The story was not broken by the mainstream media here
in the United States. We first heard about this story on Friday, October 21. By
that time the story was already three days old in Australia. It appeared in an
article in the

Fairfax Digital
on Wednesday, October 19. Now remember that is Australian
time, meaning the article was actually published on Tuesday our time.

It seems if Rumsfeld wants to start blaming the "liberal" media on this story
then he better start with the "liberal" media in one of our coalition countries.

Cheney Rumors Running Like Crazy

they apply to the future of Dick Cheney.

White House Watch: Cheney resignation
rumors fly

Charlie Archambault for USN&WR

Posted 10/18/05 By Paul Bedard

Sparked by today's Washington Post story that suggests Vice President
Cheney's office is involved in the Plame-CIA spy link investigation,
government officials and advisers passed around rumors that the vice
president might step aside and that President Bush would elevate Secretary
of State Condoleezza Rice.

"It's certainly an interesting but I still think highly doubtful
scenario," said a Bush insider. "And if that should happen," added the
official, "there will undoubtedly be those who believe the whole thing was
orchestrated – another brilliant Machiavellian move by the VP."

Said another Bush associate of the rumor, "Yes. This is not good." The
rumor spread so fast that some Republicans by late morning were already
drawing up reasons why Rice couldn't get the job or run for president in
2008.

"Isn't she pro-choice?" asked a key Senate Republican aide. Many White
House insiders, however, said the Post story and reports that the
investigation was coming to a close had officials instead more focused on
who would be dragged into the affair and if top aides would be indicted and
forced to resign.

"Folks on the inside and near inside are holding their breath and
wondering what's next," said a Bush adviser. But, he added, they aren't
focused on the future of the vice president. "Not that, at least not
seriously," he said.
