Why Is America’s Right Wing Hell Bent On Killing Children?

Posted 9/15/11 at 3:16pm by jamie

Every time Michelle Obama does something to push for our children to be a little healthier the right goes ape shit, instantly associating it with socialism. Here’s Drudge right now:

The article linked by the image reads as follows:

Michelle Obama said Thursday that a pledge by the Olive Garden and Red Lobster restaurants and its sister chains to serve healthier meals is a "breakthrough moment" for the industry.

Darden Restaurants Inc. is pledging to cut calories and sodium in its meals by 20 percent over a decade. Among promised changes for children, a fruit or vegetable side and low-fat milk will become standard with kids' meals unless a substitution is requested.

No more French fries for the little ones unless an adult asks for them.

"With this new commitment, Darden is doing what no restaurant company has done before," said the first lady, who joined executives of Orlando, Fla.-based Darden for the announcement at an Olive Garden restaurant in Maryland, just outside Washington.

How dare she want our children to be healthier and maybe live longer! Just like that socialist Laura Bush. How dare she want out children to learn, or that socialist Nancy Reagan, who wanted our children to stay off drugs!

This is how ridiculous America’s right-wing is and it gets worst. Just read this one.

So Malkin Can Track Visitors To Her Site, But Obama Can’t?

Posted 9/14/11 at 7:20pm by jamie

Here’s another great one from the queen of wingnut hypocrites, Michelle Malkin:

That’s in a post she did on AttackWatch, a new site launched by Obama for America to track smears.

So exactly what cookies are they using? Well they actually have quiet a few, which is common for most sites, but the biggest tracking cookie I saw comes from Google Analytics. That is also verified by looking at the source code on AttackWatch’s page:

<script type="text/javascript">var _gaq = _gaq || [];
_gaq.push(['_setAccount', 'UA-30908-26']);
_gaq.push(['_trackPageview']);
(function() {
var ga = document.createElement('script');
ga.type = 'text/javascript';
ga.async = true;
ga.src = ('https:' == document.location.protocol ? 'https://ssl' : 'http://www') + '.google-analytics.com/ga.js';
var s = document.getElementsByTagName('script')[0]; s.parentNode.insertBefore(ga, s);})();
</script>

That right loads in the the tracking code from the Google Analytic service. This is a very popular service used by site owners to get ideas of how many visitors they have and even what pages are popular. I even use it on this page, as does Malkin herself:

<script src="http://www.google-analytics.com/urchin.js" type="text/javascript">

</script>

<script type="text/javascript">

_uacct = "UA-2595414-1";

urchinTracker();

</script>

Did Hoffa Make Violent Comments Towards The Right?

Posted 9/6/11 at 7:50am by jamie

If you watch Fox news or read the right wing blogs, that’s exactly what you would think. Yesterday Fox ran this clip of Hoffa warming up the crowd for President Obama:

The “let’s take these son of a bitches out” is the big part the right is focusing on. You can see that by just looking at this thread on memeorandum or by reading Drudge:

But is that what Hoffa really said, or did Fox go into some creative editing? If you guessed creative editing, then you are the winner. Here’s the context Hoffa was talking in, which was conveniently edited out by Fox:

HOFFA: Everybody here's got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize,let's take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!

Things No One In Congress Talk About Cutting!

Posted 7/29/11 at 10:38am by jamie

Something going around Facebook right now really got me thinking:

Entitlement? I PAID cash for Social Security insurance! Our benefits aren’t charity or a handout! Congressional benefits—premium federal health care, outrageous retirement packages, 67 paid holidays, three weeks paid vacation, unlimited paid sick days—now THAT’S welfare! And they have the nerve to call retirement an entitlement! Repost if you are sick of their crap.

In all this talk of government cuts, have we once heard anyone in Congress say "hey - maybe we should cut congressional pay"? How about cutting staffs or perks while we are at it? The answer is no!

And the more I thought about this, the more my blood would boil. I finally decided to compare the average salaries of workers to the salaries of our members of Congress. In doing so, I created the following graph:

(Data sources: Wikipedia and SSA)

While Americans struggle to pay the bills and feed their families, members of Congress continue to live the good life. They receive a salary most of us can only dream of and benefits many of us would kill for.

Wingers Go After Obama For Not Being In Missouri

Posted 5/24/11 at 5:12pm by jamie

Weasel Zippers has this headline up:

Obama: My “Deepest Condolences” to Joplin Tornado Victims, Now Watch Me Drink This Beer!…

And it is followed by this picture:

Even the commenters are chiming in:

But Bush would never do that - would he?

That would be then President Bush strumming along the day after hurricane Katrina wiped out New Orleans and while the whole Gulf region was still in disarray, thousands were trapped and people were still dying. But just ask the wingnuts - this never happened!

And They Really Consider Matt Drudge A "News Source"?

Posted 5/18/11 at 5:32pm by jamie

There has been so much news lately of how much of a "valuable news source" Matt Drudge is. Let's look at this "valuable" information. Here's two headlines appearing at the top of his page right now:

The original story from Esquire is here. Interesting enough, when you read it you will notice how it is tagged:

Notice that last tag? It says 'humor'. In other words, this piece was a satire piece. Now this story has been up on Drudge for less than 2 hours (3:30pm est), but look at what was added to the article 3 hours before that:

The Birth Of A Crapspiracy Theory - The Right Thinks Blogger Only Took Down Their Blogs

Posted 5/14/11 at 9:16am by jamie

Dale Gribble, a conspiracy theorist the right would be proud of.
This week the Blogger Platform suffered an outage that lasted over 24 hours. Blogger, which is owned by Google, is a very popular and free platform for publishing blogs. This outage affected nearly all of the blogs hosted on Blogger, but that didn't stop the right from springing into conspiracy mode. Here's RedState blogger Moe Lane:

Well, isn’t this interesting: apparently Blogger/Google has decided to remove Ann Althouse’s blog. They’re also being neither particularly helpful in either explaining why, nor sounding particularly sympathetic that it’s been taken down, either.

Wonder if this has anything to do with Ann’s objective (and thus, anti-administration) coverage of the Wisconsin protests? I certainly hope that it has nothing to do with that…

Ann Althouse quoted Moe's post and even added this tidbit:

Back in 2004, 98% of Google employees gave money to Democrats.

Jon Stewart Not Backing Down

Not like there was any question, but he had another night of eviscerating Jim Cramer with a bonus hit on Joe Scarborough.
