Wingnut Kind Of Denounces Cut Gas Lines, But Says To Go Ahead And Punch Members Of Congress

Posted 3/24/10 at 5:55pm by jamie

Wingnut Confederate Yankee:

Go to your Congressman's office and scream at him in the most colorful language possible. Hang him in effigy at protests. If you're willing to do the time for the crime, have a swing at him.

(emphasis added)

And the commenters are even nastier:

I hove no problem targeting these scum or their families. They are targeting mine with this piece of shit law they passed. I believe it was a french philospher, sorry cant spell his name, that said the best form of government is democracy liberally sprinkled with assassination. It appears it is time to start the latter part. Let these ass-hats know that we are displease and will not wait to show our displeasure.

I am doing my civic duty and alerting the authorities, as well as the hosting provider of this. It’s time for us to be vigilant and let our law enforcement put an end to this needless call for violence.

42% Of Republicans Now Approve Of Obama

Posted 2/27/09 at 4:45pm by jamie

This was after his big socialistic, Robin Hood “take from the rich and give to the poor” speech he gave this week:

Obama's approval rebound is due to increased support from all political groups, but especially from independents and Republicans, whose support had been waning. Over the past week, independents' approval of Obama dropped from 62% to 54%, but is now back to 62%. There has been a sharp increase in support among Republicans, from 27% to 42%. Democrats' support for Obama was already extremely high at 86%, but even this has climbed slightly, to 90% in the latest polling.

Just look at that in graphical form:

I think I just heard a loud scream coming from CPAC.

Capital Police Want McKinney Investigated By Ethics Committee

Posted 6/19/06 at 11:55pm by jamie

They are just determined to keep this story going:

Police labor officials, angry over a federal grand jury's refusal to indict Rep. Cynthia McKinney for assaulting a police officer, said Monday said they want the House ethics committee to review her conduct.

And they said the grand jury's decision last week sent the message that "it's okay to hit a police officer."

"We hope that members of Congress will review her actions in light of their rules within their own ethics committee," Andrew Maybo, chairman of the U.S. Capitol Police Labor Committee, told reporters Monday at a news conference in Washington.

I of course do not know all the facts of this case but one thing sticks out in my mind. When we first started hearing details about what happened, it was reported that the officer came from behind and grabbed Rep. McKinney. After that, Rep. McKinney turned around and hit the officer. If that is the case then how could she be in trouble for hitting a police officer if she didn't know it was a police officer? Her actions could be claimed in self defense.

If the House Ethics Committee does decide to investigate this then there should be a loud scream by Democrats for an investigation into Karl Rove. The same thing happened, there was an investigation and a grand jury decided not to indict. Of course it would take a different committee to investigate Rove but if the House wants to get in the business of investigating issues that have been decided by a grand jury then it must be so across the board.

Environmental Breakdown

Posted 3/30/06 at 4:27pm by jamie

How depressing is this. It is already 60 degrees here in Southern Ohio and expected to reach the low to mid 70's today. No I am not trying to be a gloomy Gus on this. I already have the windows open and even been out in the backyard doing some work. I love this time of year and the worlds renew from its winter slumber.

What is depressing is the winter that was err wasn’t. This was a very mild winter over all. This area experienced tornados during the winter months and the temperature barely dipped below 20. Actually in late March, I still expect it to be jacket weather outside or even snow to cover the ground.

This is all depressing because what this season has shown is a shift in global climate. It is a sign of global warming and finally people are starting to understand what it all means.

I have always been a outdoors freak. Rather its negotiating the rapids on the New River in West Virginia, taking a lazy float down the Little Miami River in Ohio aboard a canoe or just hiking and camping, it is always a Zen like feeling to get back to nature.

Many people seem to forget about this great planet we live on. They are too busy rushing the kids to soccer or getting to that important meeting. No matter how busy you are, find a secluded piece of woods away from any roads or traffic and just stop and listen. It is almost like entering a strange world. You do not get bombarded with the sounds of engines humming down the highway or construction workers tapping away. Instead you are presented with a medley of nature; birds chirping and squirrels squirming across the tree branches in search of that tasty walnut.
