Using The Bible To Hope For Obama’s Death

Here is a disturbing new trend appearing in America:

There’s a new slogan making its way onto car bumpers and across the Internet. It reads simply: “Pray for Obama: Psalm 109:8”

A nice sentiment?

Maybe not.

The psalm reads, “Let his days be few; and let another take his office.”

Presidential criticism through witty slogans is nothing new. Bumper stickers, t-shirts, and hats with “1/20/09” commemorated President Bush’s last day in office.

But the verse immediately following the psalm referenced is a bit more ominous: “Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.”

How “Christian” of them. Not really. Psalms is one of the greatest books in the Bible to twist and mangle into your own beliefs. It deals mainly with human emotions, which makes it easy to twist and mangle into anyone’s own belief.

The New McCain Slogan: "Party First"

Posted 9/26/08 at 8:51am by jamie

That's what this has come down to. The House Republicans want to hold America hostage so that they can save their party - the exact same party that has caused this problem:

"At the end of the day, there's a lot of people thinking about how to rebuild this party," said GOP strategist Ed Rollins on CNN, "and do we want to rebuild it with John McCain, who's always kind of questionable on the basic facts of fiscal control, all the rest of it, immigration. And I think to a certain extent this 110, 115 members of this study group are saying, here's the time to draw the line in the sand."

"That's pretty scary stuff that they're thinking about party right now and not country, is that what you're saying?" responded host Anderson Cooper.

"I think they're, yes, they're thinking about themselves," said Rollins. "I think they don't think that the threat is as great as a lot of other people do."

This would go hand in hand with the House Republicans wanting to see the whole market collapse.

And what about John McCain? Well he is right in the thick of it:

"Bush is no diplomat," said a Democratic staffer, "but he's Cardinal freaking Richelieu compared to McCain. McCain couldn't negotiate an agreement on dinner among a family of four without making a big drama with himself at the heroic center of it. And then they'd all just leave to make themselves a sandwich."

Is that the man we want leading our country at this time, or ever? Perhaps it is time to declare the House Republicans and John McCain a new axis of evil. They are acting just like terrorists, putting their ideology before the good of the people.

Another Day, Another Palin Scandal

Posted 9/3/08 at 12:19pm by jamie

Publicly vetting a candidate is so interesting:

After taking over as Mayor of the small town of Wasilla, Palin fired the longtime local police chief. The former police chief, Irl Stambaugh says he was fired because he stepped on the toes of Palin's campaign contributors, including bar owners and the National Rifle Association.

It seems like if someone disagrees with Palin they get fired. Is that really the leadership we need in Washington? Donald Rumsfeld followed this practice, including firing Generals who knew what was needed in Iraq, but didn't bow to him. Perhaps this should be the new Republican slogan; "They bow down or they get terminated".

The Palin Pick Isn't Sitting Well

Posted 8/30/08 at 12:14am by jamie

Of all people, it looks like McCain may have just lost David Frum. They key point from his post:

Here's I fear the worst harm that may be done by this selection. The McCain campaign's slogan is "country first." It's a good slogan, and it aptly describes John McCain, one of the most self-sacrificing, gallant, and honorable men ever to seek the presidency.

But question: If it were your decision, and you were putting your country first, would you put an untested small-town mayor a heartbeat away from the presidency?

I am saying, and I can't believe the words are coming out of my fingers, I agree with David Frum. Partisan politics aside, John McCain has picked someone who's resume is Mayor of a town of 6,000 and 2 years as Governor of a state of 600,000 - 1/5 the size of Chicago. This person is put into place to be the second most powerful person in the free world.

And how does this play into the American dream? Joe Biden has worked his ass off to get where he is at. Sarah Palin is there because she is a woman who shoots a gun and is pro-life. Face it - that's the only reason McCain picked her. How can I say that? See her resume above. Just the constantly developing news coming out tonight about the scandals she is involved in is all the proof we need that she was not vetted.

Republicans can't be trusted with their own money, how can we trust them with ours?

That needs to become the slogan of any Democrat running for congress this year. The evidence is right in the NRCC accounting scandal, which seems to be going unnoticed by the mainstream media.

There is now more evidence pointing to the NRCC's lax management that may have contributed to this scandal:

The accounting scandal now haunting the National Republican Congressional Committee was preceded by a series of decisions over the past decade to relax internal financial controls at the committee, according to numerous Republican sources familiar with the NRCC's operations during those years.

Under Virginia Rep. Tom Davis and New York Rep. Thomas Reynolds, who chaired the committee from 1999 until the end of 2006, the NRCC waived rules requiring the executive committee - made up of elected leaders and rank-and-file Republican lawmakers - to sign off on expenditures exceeding $10,000, merged the various department budgets into a single account and rolled back a prohibition on committee staff earning an income from outside companies.

Remember that this is the core of the party of "fiscal responsibility". The NRCC is the life blood for House Republicans. If they are so careless with this important money, how can they be trusted to control the money of the United States? This is a serious problem for the NRCC and can become a great campaign issue for Democrats this year.

New Police Officers Make Fun Of Condition That Plagues Iraq Vets

Posted 12/26/07 at 9:18am by jamie

This is totally disguising:

A state police academy leader has disavowed the slogan of the most recent graduating class urging one another to "go out and cause" post-traumatic stress disorder.

Each class at the Idaho Police Officer Standards and Training Academy is allowed to choose a slogan that is printed on its graduation programs, and the class of 43 graduates came up with "Don't suffer from PTSD, go out and cause it."

So what did they do about it in Idaho? Nothing!

Ada County Sheriff Gary Raney, who attended the Dec. 14 graduation, pointed out the slogan to the academy's director, Jeff Black, minutes before the ceremony began, Raney said. A photograph of the program was e-mailed anonymously to news outlets throughout the state.

"That's not something we encourage or condone," Black said. "It shouldn't have been there. It was inappropriate."

Black said the class president was ex-military, and that the slogan "slipped in." He declined to identify the graduate. Black said future slogans would be vetted by academy leaders.

What should have been done? The academy should have told these idiots that they are not graduating. Instead they will go through the entire process again - including the mental screening. Police brutality is on an upward rise in this country and morons like this will certainly help add to that statistic.

Fuck The Troops!

Posted 9/20/07 at 3:35pm by jamie

And let them die in Iraq!

That should be the new slogan of the GOP. They did another filibuster on Boxer's resolution condemning any ad against military people (past or present), yet the measure condemning MoveOn's ad passed.

Considering the GOP blocks any measure that would help the troops as a whole, or even give them an end in sight, they have given another "fuck the troops". The only troops that they care about are ones who will bow down to their political belief. What is it we are fighting for again? It sure as hell isn't freedom!

I can understand the Democrats voting for this. Negative attack ads is what the Republicans do, and they sure will go after every Democrat that voted no. However, it is time for Harry Reid to grow some balls. Instead of allowing these "procedural" filibusters on Iraq, force the GOP to full filibusters. Yeah it will slow Senate down, but what the hell is getting done now? Let's have some multi-day filibusters go one to show all the American people that the Republicans care nothing about democracy. Why would they filibuster anyways? Bush would just veto it, then the Republicans can sit back and not look like obstructionists.

Stop being a pussy Harry!

Calling All Republicans!!!!

Please support Duncan Hunter in his fight for the 2008 RNC Presidential nomination. Here is a good look at your new man:

Come on, you can do it. This man needs your support dear Republicans. He proved to the world that we do not torture at Gitmo by simply showing what we feed them. He still believes strong in Rummy, and you never know - maybe he will keep him as the Secretary of Defense. This is the perfect man for you to support. Give him your vote in the 2008 primaries and get your killin' on.

Josh even has some great slogan's for Hunter's run.

We Need To Stop Giving To The DSCC

Posted 7/2/06 at 3:07pm by jamie

Once again Chuck Schumer has told the Democrats in Connecticut to go to hell. He was asked this morning if the DSCC will stand behind the primary winner rather it be Lieberman or Lamont. Schumer would not say that and instead said he would not speculate because they are supporting Lieberman in the primary.

What kind of message does this send to Democrats around the country? To this Democrat it tells me that the DSCC does not give a damn what I or any other constituents think. They will protect their own friends than the people who they depend on - us.

This is also going to become a great campaign tool for the Republicans. They talk about a divided Democratic party and there is no better evidence then this. Simple slogan for the Republicans - "We support who our people support". This also shows that Schumer would rather the Republicans stay in control as long as his buddy Joe gets reelected.

Since Schumer started showing his true colors on this, I have refused to send anymore money to the DSCC. I will not send anymore money until the DSCC shows that they stand behind Democrats as a whole and not just their "friends". The DSCC should not even be involved in the primary game, but only focus on the final outcome. In other words - the DSCC would rather waste money to defeat other Democrats then trying to regain control of the Senate.

I urge all my readers to spread the word and cut the DSCC off until either Schumer resigns as chairman or the DSCC lives up to their oath:

Our mission is to elect more Democrats to the United States Senate. We are the largest organization committed to electing a Democratic Senate in the country. From grass-roots organizing to candidate recruitment to providing campaign funds for tight races, the DSCC is working hard all year, every year to increase the number of Democratic Senators

Military Idol

Posted 8/5/05 at 10:36pm by jamie

This week has been one of the deadliest weeks in Iraq since
the war started. Now it even has more Republicans wondering if we should stay
the course. Here in Ohio, we were hit hard with a majority of the soldiers who
perished this week residing in this state.

There is some good news coming out of the Pentagon this
week however. No we are not pulling troops out of Iraq. Their also isn’t a
sudden surge of veterans benefit. This news is one that is guaranteed to boost
the morale of the soldiers.

The Pentagon released details today of “Military Idol”.
Going after the same theme as Fox’s “American Idol”, soldiers around the world
will get to compete in the first rounds to show who has the best vocals. After
that, the winners will move on to the finalist round at Fort Gordon, GA to
compete to become the inaugural “Military Idol”. The final competition will be
held on the week of October 17 through October 23.

This competition is sure to draw a wide range of talent
from the military as they fight to win the first place prize of $1000. During
the first rounds, they will be voted on by judges and peers. Peers get to cast
one ballot during the second and third rounds, but if they feel someone deserves
an extra vote then they can receive an additional ballot by purchasing a snack
or meal.

Full details of the competition can be viewed
here.

I think a possible slogan for this competition should be
something along the lines of:

Sing your way from Fallujah to Georgia.

Please leave your suggestions in the comments.
