Joe Scarborough’s tweet last week slamming Keith Olbermann has gained some attention, including from their boss:
Griffin sent a memo, obtained by the Huffington Post, to network talent and executive producers clamping down on infighting within the network.
"We have many strong personalities with differing, passionate opinions, but it is important to remember that we are all on the same team," Griffin said in the memo. "I want to reiterate my long-standing policy: We do not publicly criticize our colleagues. This kind of behavior is unprofessional and will not be tolerated."
Earlier this week, "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough blasted Keith Olbermann on Twitter for his comments that Scott Brown is "an irresponsible, homophobic, racist, reactionary, ex-nude model, tea-bagging supporter of violence against women and against politicians with whom he disagrees."
The Huffington Post has the full memo here. Mediaite, a site founded by MSNBC legal analyst Dan Abrams, adds:
We hear Scarborough apologized to Griffin for his comments. Griffin also talked to Olbermann, and Olbermann didn’t think it merited punishment. So the letter to staff (but really to Scarborough) went out instead.
We asked on Tuesday if it was “MSNBC civil war,” and it doesn’t sound like it. But with Scarborough’s private apology and Olbermann’s public acknowledgment that, yeah, maybe the Scott Brown thing was a little over the top (although because of what Stewart, not Scarborough said), it seems that both sides have dialed it back.
Scarborough has one of the worst rated shows on network news, while Keith has one of the best. I’m sure that thought was in Griffin’s mind when he sent out that memo and I wouldn’t doubt if Joe was reminded of that fact.

Last night Keith had one of his comments about Scott Brown, in which Keith called brown out on some of his reckless and hate filled comments and support of said comments:
Following that Joe Scarborough took to Twitter to slam Olbermann:
I got a feeling the powers to be at MSNBC won’t like the anchor of one of their lowest rated shows slamming the anchor of their top rated show.
So now the big question. How long before Keith names Joe as worst person for something?

Last night Keith Olbermann pointed out that according to the new ‘conservative litmus test’ being floated around the RNC that Reagan would fail it – rather interesting since the resolution is title “Proposed RNC Resolution on Reagan’s Unity Principle for Support of Candidates”.
Here is the criteria to being a conservative according to the RNC and you must meet at least eight of these points to be considered for RNC support should the measure pass.
(1) Smaller government, smaller national debt, lower deficits and lower taxes by opposing bills like Obama’s “stimulus” bill
(2) Market-based health care reform and oppose Obama-style government run healthcare;
(3) Market-based energy reforms by opposing cap and trade legislation;
(4) Workers’ right to secret ballot by opposing card check
(5) Legal immigration and assimilation into American society by opposing amnesty for illegal immigrants;
(6) Victory in Iraq and Afghanistan by supporting military-recommended troop surges;
(7) Containment of Iran and North Korea, particularly effective action to eliminate their nuclear weapons threat
(8) Retention of the Defense of Marriage Act;
(9) Protecting the lives of vulnerable persons by opposing health care rationing and denial of health care and government funding of abortion; and
(10) The right to keep and bear arms by opposing government restrictions on gun ownership
Here is Keith explaining how Reagan would fail six of those points:
It really is telling when the RNC doesn’t even know their own idol and what he actually stood for.

The health clinic held in Arkansans Saturday saw 1,500 uninsured Arkansans come through to receive care on the very same day Blanche Lincoln was toying with the idea of killing healthcare reform. Here is a video from the event:
But somehow Bill Clinton has totally lost the message on this great endeavor, lead by Keith Olbermann:
Bill Clinton told FDL’s Eve Gittelson that it would be problematic for him to attend a free medical clinic being held in Little Rock, Arkansas tomorrow because MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann had “politicized” the event.” He indicated that some were turning the event into a primary kickoff against Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln.
I guess Clinton has missed the entire healthcare debate, considering it has been nothing but politics. Two-thirds of Arkansans support the public option, yet their senator Blanche Lincoln is dead set against it, totally ignoring the will of the people she was elected to represent. That right there is fodder to turn the event into a anti-Blanche event.
Adding….I just wonder, since Clinton appears so supportive of Lincoln and claims to be so supportive of healthcare reform, has he even talked to Lincoln to try and get her to change her mind? Clinton is the former governor of Lincoln’s state, so it would be totally appropriate, yet Clinton never seems to signal that.

How dare President Obama invite the MSNBC hosts and not anyone from FOX. Bush would have never done that!

Last night Keith Olbermann and Eugene Robinson discussed that very possibility.
I believe this pivots on exactly how much President Obama caves to the right. If he totally caves, then the possibility of this is very high. If that happens it wouldn’t shock me to see Hillary resign as Secretary of State and run against him. True that could easily spell disaster for the Democrats in 2012.

Bill Maher has made news the past few days for going after President Obama for not being tough enough. Here he is last night talking to Keith about it:
Bill is right. President Obama needs to stop being “nice”. The Republicans have shown they have no desire to work with him or the Democrats, so we need to just forget about them. Instead Obama should start pushing through exactly what he wants. For Republicans the honeymoon was over at 12:01 on January 20, 2009. No need for our side to try and extend it.

It is still torture and Mancow decided to share his waterboarding experience with Keith Olbermann last night

Of course this probably means Mancow will be banned from appearing on FOX news now. I mean how could he go into the enemy zone known as MSNBC?

Following Mancow’s waterboarding experience yesterday Keith Olbermann has now rescinded his challenge to Hannity and instead will donate $10,000 to military families in the name of Mancow.
It would be nice for people to remind Hannity of what a coward he was in this whole thing.

Keith took on President Obama’s decision to not prosecute those involved with torture with a special comment last night:

I guess it kind of put a damper on the wingnuts constant claims that MSNBC is a spokesperson for Obama.

Last night, Keith Olbermann took on the banks with a special comment. He went after this whole notion of “too big to fail” that we constantly here about parts of our financial industry. Maybe its time to change that.

Keith hit to the core of the issue - why does it matter? If people are so scared that their marriage might be risked because a gay couple gets married then it really speaks volumes to the instability of their own marriage.
