n 2002, Michael Abramoff was being investigated by an acting United States attorney, Frederick Black, in Guam for some typical shady business dealings. Mr. Black was quickly demoted as President Bush appointed a prosecutor to Guam.
New York Times is reporting today that there is now an investigation underway by the Department of Justice and the F.B.I. to see rather the quick appointment had anything to do with getting Mr. Black off the case. Previous emails from Abramoff boasted that he had a close relationship with ex U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft.
Mean while, three men were arrested and charged with the murder of ‘Gus’ Boulis. Boulis was the owner of Sun-Cruz prior to Abramoff. His gang land style murder has been unsolved for four years. The Washington Post has more on this story.
