Iraq Wanting To "Cut and Run"

So I guess the Iraqis are now on the side of the Democrats when it comes to the problems in Iraq:

THE Iraqi Government will announce a sweeping peace plan as early as Sunday in a last-ditch effort to end the Sunni insurgency that has taken the country to the brink of civil war.

The 28-point package for national reconciliation will offer Iraqi resistance groups inclusion in the political process and an amnesty for their prisoners if they renounce violence and lay down their arms, The Times can reveal.

The Government will promise a finite, UN-approved timeline for the withdrawal of all foreign troops from Iraq; a halt to US operations against insurgent strongholds; an end to human rights violations, including those by coalition troops; and compensation for victims of attacks by terrorists or Iraqi and coalition forces.

Now what kind of message is the Iraqi government sending the insurgents with this talk of “timelines”? Let’s face reality here – the only ones that want us to stay in Iraq are the Republicans and the insurgents. The Republicans can not admit they have seriously failed this country with this war and the insurgents can use it as an excellent recruiting tool.

So will our President listen to the Iraqi government on this? Most likely not and that will also lead to more insurgents and more attacks against our soldiers. We are considered an occupier there and that is the problem Bush has created.
