Perhaps you haven’t heard, but we have a serious hostage situation going on in Georgia right now. The victim is one Phil Gingrich, a Republican that represents Georgia’s 11th congressional district. Here’s more about this developing situation from Raw Story:
A Georgia Republican congressman was caught complaining about what he described as a low salary in a closed-door meeting with fellow party members concerning the Affordable Care Act, the National Review reported.
During a discussion concerning a possible exemption for lawmakers and staff members from taking part in the state health exchanges mandated by the new law, Rep. Phil Gingrey (R-GA) reportedly lamented that aides can become lobbyists “and make 500,000 a year. Meanwhile I’m stuck here making $172,000 a year.”
The evil voters of Georgia’s 11th have been holding this poor man hostage for the past 10 years and only giving him a lowly salary of $172,000 per year. How in the world can someone survive on such chump-change???
Hopefully the voters in Georgia will show some form of compassion next year and release Dr. Phil from his shackles and let him be free to flourish.
