Rather if it’s at a debate or on the stump, Donald Trump just loves telling us how China is destroying us and he is the only one that can stop it. That is great for cheers and to up the anger of his base, but is it a reality? I direct you to this article published by Bloomberg today:
Yet no skills are required of the wealthy Chinese being courted by a Chinese-subtitled video to help finance a huge Trump-branded tower in New Jersey. The video leads viewers behind the wheel of a car into Jersey City with scenes of the tower, all to the tune of the theme song from The Sopranos, “Woke Up This Morning.”
The video was produced to help raise tens of millions of dollars through a controversial government program that offers expedited visas to foreign investors overwhelmingly from China. While the program has many supporters who argue it attracts foreign capital and creates jobs at no U.S. taxpayer cost, congressional overseers and Homeland Security have raised sharp concerns. Applicants are sometimes cleared in less than a month and the critics say the government is essentially selling visas to wealthy foreigners with no proven skills, paving the way for money laundering and compromising national security.
So, the Chinese come to take our jobs and ruin our economy, per Trump, yet when it’s something that benefits The Don, well hell, it’s all fine and dandy. Bring in more foreign workers to take American jobs. Let China own another piece of real estate in our country. It all goes to line the pockets of Trump, so that makes it just A-O-K!
I honestly do not see how anyone can support this man. We all know and have come to expect the lies of politicians, but Trump takes it to an entirely new level. His own practices negate his promises, and he has shown time and time again that he is only worried about saying things that brings cheers, not what he will do. Trump supporters need to come to the realization that they have fallen for a fraud, or more precisely, a snake-oil salesman wrapped in a faux flag of patriotism and what will be broken promises of “make America great again”.
