Back in February, which seems like a life time ago in this campaign season, the Clinton campaign, Sanders campaign and DNC all sat down to agree to an extended debate schedule. The agreement was for four more debates, with only two being set in stone - Michigan and California. Fast forward three months, and with only two weeks before California has their primary, and now Clinton is refusing to debate. In a statement from Clinton spokeswoman, Jennifer Palmieri:
"We believe that Hillary Clinton's time is best spent campaigning and meeting directly with voters across California and preparing for a general election campaign that will ensure the White House remains in Democratic hands"
Some might think that sounds reasonable and all, but many Clinton supporters are also pointing to the fact that Fox News had offered to host this final debate, and Clinton doesn't want to appear on the network.
Let that sink in for a minute. Now I'm not a supporter of Fox News by any means, but as having someone wanting to be President of this country obviously afraid to go to Fox News for a debate is very troubling. We are talking about the biggest cable "news" outlet in the country, and a chance to even reach out to a lot of voters that don't want a President Trump, regardless of them being a Republican.
There's also the fact that the three moderators Fox had chosen are also people not very enthusiastic about Trump. Brett Baer, Chris Wallace and Megan Kelly have all shown they aren't that sold on Trump. So this would most likely be the most fair treatment any Democrat could receive from the right's news source.
When you consider that polls are showing a very tight general race, and Trump actually slightly ahead in the RCP average, shouldn't Clinton look at this as a way to maybe reach a few more voters? I mean if she is going to rely on Democrats alone to send her to the White House, then Trump might as well start prepping the big gold name to put over 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
This is just the latest in examples of why I think Clinton is a horrible candidate and that we very well may end up with President Trump come next January, unless the Super Delegates do their actual job and support the candidate best suited to win the White House back.
