Bush's Latest Approval Rating – 36%

I posted the other day that the WSJ/NBC latest poll has Bush’s approval at
38%. Like I said at that time, dependent upon the poll the numbers to fluctuate
pretty good. Well I found another poll that has Bush even lower than that. This
one has him at 36%.

That poll is from none other than FOX News. Yeah I know that is a shocked and
a real slap to the Republicans.

Here is an interesting statement from the FOX article:

“The key to understanding Bush’s rating is not the fact that 84 percent
of Democrats disapprove or that 72 percent of Republicans still approve ?
they?ve been polarized for a long time,” comments Opinion Dynamics Chairman
John Gorman. “The real problem for the president is that self-described
independents now disapprove by a 58 percent to 26 percent margin. The
‘rally-the-base’ strategies that have worked so well for the administration
are not likely to win back the independents the Republicans need to return
to parity. The question is whether they can develop an approach that wins
back independents.”

That is the column I like to watch. Its interesting to see Independents
support wither away for the President. After all, Democrats will most likely
disapprove and Republican’s will most likely approve of his job. The
independents are the money getters in the election world.

George, you finally kept a campaign promise. In 2004 you said you would unite
the country. It looks more and more like you are uniting the country – the
country against you and your party.
