A new poll by Survey USA
shows that most people believe that Libby was told to lie during his testimony.
The question and results are as follows:

At first glance, you get the impression that people are believing that
someone ordered Libby to lie. This impression is of course the correct one, but
there is something else in this poll that really stands out. 63% of the
respondents feel that he did actually lie. That should put the administration
less at ease considering a majority now feel he did actually lie intentionally.

His lawyer is planning a “lack of memory” defense. The argument is going to
be that he talks to so many people in a day how could he possibly remember who
he said what to. By the results of this survey, only 13% would believe that
defense.

With the largest number feeling he was told to lie, this should send an even
louder message to Congress that this needs investigated. Most of us know in our
hearts he was told to lie by Cheney, and if someone is told to commit a crime by
the vice-President then the vice-President needs to answer to Congress for it.
Cheney’s old boss, Gerald Ford, came clean to Congress when asked the reasoning
for pardoning Richard Nixon. Cheney needs to now come before Congress and come
clean on his involvement.
