The ISG Report – A Reason For Bush To Blame Everyone Else!

The waste of time has been delivered:

The Iraq Study Group report gives a “tough assessment of the situation in Iraq” but provides “common ground” for a way forward, President Bush said Wednesday.

Bush spoke at the White House after receiving the group’s report in a breakfast meeting.

According to two sources who have seen the executive summary of the group’s report, the panel urges Bush to move most U.S. troops out of combat roles by early 2008.

The bipartisan panel, however, stops short of a timetable for withdrawal.

So basically the report last week in the New York Times was correct. But will Bush listen to this new plan? He stopped really short of giving an answer on that:

“We will take every proposal seriously, and we will act in a timely fashion,” Bush said.

In other words, “Thanks for playing, but I am the decider. Bye Bye”. Oh but is he the decider?

He urged Congress to take the group’s proposals seriously and work with the administration to find “common ground” on Iraq policy.

Ummm – Mr. Bush. I believe that Congress has been taking this seriously and looking forward to it. It has been YOUR administration that comes out and says that you will look, but have other options/reports coming out that you will take into consideration first. YOUR administration was gently dismissing this report before it was ever released. Of course I can imagine your definition of “common ground” is to only agree with what you decide, even if it does not follow the group’s recommendations.

Now here is a part that really gets me:

“The country is tired of pure political bickering,” Bush said.

If you want to fix this Mr. President, then fire people in your administration. It was your people that flat out LIED to the American people about the reason Bolton had to resign. How about the attack you did against a decorated veteran, who fought in a war you were to fucking afraid to fight in (see Jack Murtha). He makes recommendations exactly like Rumsfeld made, however Murtha was a “coward” and wanted to “cut and run”, while Rumsfeld was “exploring options”.

George Bush – you are the divider. Unity is a moot term in your administration, one that has been the most partisan White House in history. On top of that, you just proved you are bat shit loony thinking any decent American will buy into your crap of saying this after your actions of the last several years. Everyone knows it has been you and your administration that worked tiredly to divide this fractured nation. Now we aren’t so divided. As matter of fact we are all coming together with a common cause – to see your ass out of power as soon as possible. Put that in your legacy pipe and smoke it asshat!
