I have been digging through some of the exit polls from last night and there appears to be a trend that is growing. In Virginia, Obama won 60% of the female vote. He also won 54% of the Latino vote and won in every category of income. The same trend held true for Maryland, with the exception of the Latino vote, where Clinton won by 55%.
Clinton has been focusing on support of women, Latinos and the low income to win. It looks like Obama is chipping away at that base. With 27 days to go until Ohio and Texas, Obama has a lot of time to continue this momentum. The Latino vote will be most important in Texas.
Also there is now news of Republicans for Obama making a stronger showing. That will increase the electibility of Obama over all.
Hillary has an extremely rough battle ahead. I am going to start crunching the number of remaining races to see how close she can come to Obama in pledged delegate counts. I’ll post the numbers once I get that done.
