DEMOCRATS: The Party Of Sexists?

Posted 1/27/08 at 11:50am by jamie

The Democratic party showed their true colors with yesterday's primary in South Carolina. The nation's attention was pulled away from important issues to focus on the primary race. Important issues like this:

Miss Michigan Kirsten Haglund, a 19-year-old aspiring Broadway star, was crowned Miss America 2008 on Saturday in a live show billed as the unveiling of the 87-year-old pageant's new, hipper look.

The Democrats instead chose to have their primary on a date that would hide the great achievements of this young woman, or any other woman vowing to be crowned Miss America. It shows their sexism is still in full force.

(Note to Erick at Red State - please feel free to copy this post. I think it goes good with your earlier one).

PS: Yes this is a joke. I just couldn't let the idiocracy that is known as Erick Erickson go without highlighting it again. Also if you have any post ideas for Erick, please post them in the comments.

The Syria Trip(s) Take A New Turn

Posted 4/5/07 at 1:44pm by jamie

Everyone has been blasting Pelosi for going to Syria, but there has been no critisism of Republicans doing the same. Today, Rep Darrell Issa (R-CA) is in Syria meeting with Damascus. Now Boehner is giving the Republican excuse of why Democrats can't go to Syria:

Boehner declined to criticize [fellow Republican Rep. David Hobson] for joining Pelosi, saying her stature gave the visit an imprimatur it didn’t deserve.

“It’s one thing for other members to go,” Boehner said, “but you have to ask yourself, ‘Why is Pelosi going?’ She’s going for one reason and that is to embarrass the president. She is the speaker of the House. She’s giving (the Syrian) government more credit than they deserve. They sponsor terrorism. They have not been at all helpful. I wish she wasn’t there.”

There you got it - the old Republican double standard. Boehner showed his true colors. He believes that Republicans should have the only say in our government and Democrats shouldn't. John Boehner has once again proven his hatred for democracy.

We Need To Stop Giving To The DSCC

Posted 7/2/06 at 3:07pm by jamie

Once again Chuck Schumer has told the Democrats in Connecticut to go to hell. He was asked this morning if the DSCC will stand behind the primary winner rather it be Lieberman or Lamont. Schumer would not say that and instead said he would not speculate because they are supporting Lieberman in the primary.

What kind of message does this send to Democrats around the country? To this Democrat it tells me that the DSCC does not give a damn what I or any other constituents think. They will protect their own friends than the people who they depend on - us.

This is also going to become a great campaign tool for the Republicans. They talk about a divided Democratic party and there is no better evidence then this. Simple slogan for the Republicans - "We support who our people support". This also shows that Schumer would rather the Republicans stay in control as long as his buddy Joe gets reelected.

Since Schumer started showing his true colors on this, I have refused to send anymore money to the DSCC. I will not send anymore money until the DSCC shows that they stand behind Democrats as a whole and not just their "friends". The DSCC should not even be involved in the primary game, but only focus on the final outcome. In other words - the DSCC would rather waste money to defeat other Democrats then trying to regain control of the Senate.

I urge all my readers to spread the word and cut the DSCC off until either Schumer resigns as chairman or the DSCC lives up to their oath:

Our mission is to elect more Democrats to the United States Senate. We are the largest organization committed to electing a Democratic Senate in the country. From grass-roots organizing to candidate recruitment to providing campaign funds for tight races, the DSCC is working hard all year, every year to increase the number of Democratic Senators

Raw Story has uncovered this interesting report about Chris Matthews

A new report advanced to RAW STORY Thursday suggests that Chris Matthews, the star of the Sunday talk show circuit's Hardball, has accepted hefty speaking fees from an array of conservative trade associations.

Matthews has given speeches to at least ten major conservative trade associations since 2001. The report's author, Dave Johnson, who blogs at Seeing The Forest and is also a fellow at the progressive Commonweal Institute, could find no records indicating that Matthews has spoken before any Democratic-leaning organizations. The report is not a product of the Commonweal Institute.

You can continue reading their report here.

For so long Chris Matthews has tried and act the part of moderate on his show. Now his true colors are being exposed. There is no doubt he would be a better addition to FOX than MSNBC.
