Obama Is Out To Get You Through Your Cell Phone!

Posted 5/10/11 at 6:48pm by jamie

The right wing media is in a frenzy today over the plan to send homeland security and disaster alerts to your cellphone. Listen to Limbaugh going off on the “regimes” plan today:

I really hope that Limbaugh is talking about the Bush regime. This plan was authored by Tea Party poster boy, Jim DeMint in 2006 and passed by Congress and also supported by an executive order signed by President Bush. In 2006 the GOP controlled all of Congress and the White House. This is a GOP plan, not a Democratic one.

Of course the apologists will start claiming that we are “blaming Bush” again, despite the fact that this plan was when President Obama was still Senator Obama – not even candidate Obama. Facts are a really hard thing for these people to stomach.

Leave It To Bill Donohue To Justify The Churches Molestation Of Children

Posted 3/31/10 at 9:09am by jamie

This guy is a total disgust to humanity.

Roberts: Bill is good but you cannot link homosexuality to a pedophilia crisis in the Catholic Church.

Bill Donohue: It’s not a pedophilia… most of the victims were post pubescent…

Roberts: You know…

Donohue: You’ve got to get your facts straight. I’m sorry. If I’m the only one that’s going to deal with facts tonight so be it. The vast majority of the victims are post pubescent. That’s not pedophilia buddy. That’s homosexuality.

So what does Bill consider post pubescent?

King: What is the age?

Thomas: Ah… I don’t know. Let’s ask Bill. He seems to be the authority on post pubescency.

Donohue: 12, 13 years of age. Look, all I’m saying (crosstalk).

That’s your moral authority America. Go ahead and have sex with some 12-13 year old boys. It’s no longer pedophilia according to the legal authority of Bill Donohue.

There is a special place in hell for child molesting apologists like Donohue and his Catholic league. That place is actually below the priests who committed the crimes.

A Few Less Bricks In The Wall

Posted 2/20/08 at 12:03pm by jamie

Stopping the "flow of illegal immigrants" across the border is so damn important that they are building this wall. I guess seeing that wall will prevent them from going around holes like this:

While the border wall will go through her backyard and effectively destroy her home, it will stop at the edge of the River Bend Resort and golf course, a popular Winter Texan retreat two miles down the road. The wall starts up again on the other side of the resort.

"It has a golf course and all of the amenities," Tamez says. "There are no plans to build a wall there. If the wall is so important for security, then why are we skipping parts?"

Oh but wait - it gets even better. Look what happens if you have friends with the initials George W. Bush:

Just 69 miles north, Daniel Garza, 76, faces a similar situation with a neighbor who has political connections that reach the White House. In the small town of Granjeno, population 313, Garza points to a field across the street where a segment of the proposed 18-foot high border wall would abruptly end after passing through his brick home and a small, yellow house he gave his son. "All that land over there is owned by the Hunts," he says, waving a hand toward the horizon. "The wall doesn't go there."

In this area everyone knows the Hunts. Dallas billionaire Ray L. Hunt and his relatives are one of the wealthiest oil and gas dynasties in the world. Hunt, a close friend of President George W. Bush, recently donated $35 million to Southern Methodist University to help build Bush's presidential library. In 2001, Bush made him a member of the Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board, where Hunt received a security clearance and access to classified intelligence.

Is This How Bush Supports The Troops?

Posted 2/16/08 at 9:51am by jamie

Or is it how he equates himself with the terrorists:

Hundreds of U.S. Marines have been killed or injured by roadside bombs in Iraq because Marine Corps bureaucrats refused an urgent request in 2005 from battlefield commanders for blast-resistant vehicles, an internal military study concludes.

The study, written by a civilian Marine Corps official and obtained by The Associated Press, accuses the service of "gross mismanagement" that delayed deliveries of the mine-resistant, ambush-protected trucks for more than two years.

Cost was a driving factor in the decision to turn down the request for the so-called MRAPs, according to the study. Stateside authorities saw the hulking vehicles, which can cost as much as a $1 million each, as a financial threat to programs aimed at developing lighter vehicles that were years from being fielded.

Once again we see that Republican attitude of money trumping life. Letting our troops die to save money? That almost sounds treasonous.

I know the apologists will be out saying "well Bush doesn't have control over everything". That is the standard meme that has followed every story like this, from Mike Brown to Abu Gharib. This is a commander in chief with no responsibility.

Screw Justice!

So this White House sez:

The head of the federal agency investigating Karl Rove's White House political operation is facing allegations that he improperly deleted computer files during another probe, using a private computer-help company, Geeks on Call.

Scott Bloch runs the Office of Special Counsel, an agency charged with protecting government whistleblowers and enforcing a ban on federal employees engaging in partisan political activity. Mr. Bloch's agency is looking into whether Mr. Rove and other White House officials used government agencies to help re-elect Republicans in 2006.

At the same time, Mr. Bloch has himself been under investigation since 2005. At the direction of the White House, the federal Office of Personnel Management's inspector general is looking into claims that Mr. Bloch improperly retaliated against employees and dismissed whistleblower cases without adequate examination.

Debunking "Clinton Did It"

Once again we have a scandal surrounding the current White House and once again we have the right-wing talking heads out there with towing their typical defense of "well Clinton did it". This time the excuse is being applied to the U.S.A. purge. A lot of Bush apologists are out there using this claim that "Well Clinton got rid of all 93". That is true, but not valid when talking about the current purge. If they want to use that excuse then they might as well say Bush 41 did it and so did Reagan. When ever an administration takes over they generally fire all U.S.A.s and start fresh. This is a practice that has gone on for a very long time, and a practice that really should be changed. I'll have more on changing it in a bit, but first I want to discuss why this incident is not the same as Clinton's firing of all 93.

The Hate Speech of the Right

Posted 3/6/07 at 9:54am by jamie

Their has been a lot of buzz the last few days over Ann Coulter calling John Edwards a "faggot". I chose not to cover it because I feel that the more publicity Coulter gets, the more fuel she has for her outlandish comments. Today I had to cave because of Keith Olbermann, who took time from his vacation last night to call in the World's Worst on Countdown.

We got Limbaugh saying that Obama owns Al Sharpton because Obama has a history of slave owners in his family and Sharpton's family was once owned by Strom. Coulter and her "faggot" comment earns her the top honor, while Gingrich showed his true hatred with this comment:

How can you have the mess we have in New Orleans, and not have had deep investigations of the federal government, the state government, the city government, and the failure of citizenship in the Ninth Ward, where 22,000 people were so uneducated and so unprepared, they literally couldn't get out of the way of a hurricane.

Wow Newt. Why didn't you just say that it was the "stupid niggers" in the 9th ward? Considering the 9th ward is mostly African-American and your use of "uneducated" that is what you were implying.

Back to Coulter. There has been a lot of outrage on right wing blogs over her comments. Some I believe is sincere, but others I believe is nothing more than grand standing. When you watch the video of Coulter making the comment it was met with applause and laughter from the conservative filled room:

A Quick Thought On Saddam

Posted 12/30/06 at 1:41pm by jamie

Last night when the news of his execution was made public, people started rejoicing. FOX News was giddy with the thought of video and pictures being published of the execution. True so much coverage was dedicated to this execution yesterday, including history lessons on hangings from CNN.

It is amazing to see how the right wingers are rejoicing so much over the news of Saddam's fate, yet they are the first ones to dish up excuses for Bush not capturing Osama, or even giving that much attention to him. Sure Saddam was a bad man and did horrible things, and his victims deserve justice - but don't the 3,000 Americans who lost their lives on 9/11 deserve justice? Instead the Bush apologists offer up excuses to why their justice has never been served. That is real American and compassionate of them.

Something else that struck me as interesting was all the old footage and photos of Saddam that was being aired yesterday. It seems that during this collage displayed on most news channels, they forgot one of the most famous pictures of Saddam. I figured I better go ahead and publish it for them:

saddamrumsfeld.jpg

So how does our former Secretary of Defense feel now that his former buddy has been executed? Perhaps this is why the execution was moved along so quickly. God forbid Saddam be put on trial and we hear about the people who helped supply him with most of the weapons he used against his own people. Perhaps the accomplices in his other crime can still face the Iraqi courts.

Don't Like The NIE? How About This One Then

Posted 9/28/06 at 2:13am by jamie

From Reuters

An intelligence report showing an upsurge in Islamic militancy put the White House on the defensive on Wednesday in an election-year debate over whether President George W. Bush has made America safer.

In a second blow to the president, a new U.N. report said the Iraq war was providing al Qaeda with a training center and fresh recruits, and was inspiring a Taliban resurgence in Afghanistan hundreds of miles away.

Well at least we got the U.N. and the U.S. in agreement now. Bush and his merry pack of apologists seem to be the only ones in denial now.

White House To Be Subpoenaed

Posted 8/29/06 at 3:09pm by jamie

Now things are starting to move in the right direction:

Two attorneys representing claimants in a lawsuit over wiretapping by the National Security Agency will subpoena the White House today, RAW STORY has learned.

Bruce Afran and Carl Mayer, who represent hundreds of plaintiffs in lawsuits against Verizon, AT&T, and the US Government, will announnce today that they are serving both the Bush administration and Verizon with subpoenas.

The announcement is due to arrive at 4:30 PM, outside of Verizon headquarters in New York, RAW STORY has confirmed.

The subpoenas come on the heels of two federal court decisions that were seen as blows to the Bush Administration warrantless spying program.

This will really get the apologists out there screaming and crying. It will be even more interesting if the courts uphold the subpoenas. You can bet the right will be calling for more ways to due away with the "judicial activists".

Rasmussen's Latest Spin Poll

Posted 12/29/05 at 1:08am by jamie

Rasmussen has
released a new poll that Bush apologists are certain to jump on. That poll
paints a very interesting and deceitful picture:

December 28, 2005--Sixty-four percent (64%) of Americans believe the
National Security Agency (NSA) should be allowed to intercept telephone
conversations between terrorism suspects in other countries and people
living in the United States. A Rasmussen Reports survey found that just 23%
disagree.

Sixty-eight percent (68%) of Americans say they are following the NSA
story somewhat or very closely.

Just 26% believe President Bush is the first to authorize a program like
the one currently in the news. Forty-eight percent (48%) say he is not while
26% are not sure.

Sure 64% believe that. One problem with the wording of the question though.
They forgot to include the main issue at hand which would be intercepting calls
with or without a court issued warrant. This leads to a extremely false data on
the current issue. I bet if they included the words "with a court approved
warrant" that number would of gained 20 points just the same as if they included
the words "without a court approved warrant" the same number would of dropped by
a considerable amount.

None the less, the damage is out and you can be certain right wing rags like
NewsMax will jump on this poll as gospel. It is amazing how the addition or
removal of certain words in a poll can drastically change the outcome. This is
just proof of that from a typical right-leaning polling company.
