A new poll out by Gallup shows a strong decrease in enthusiasm for Republicans and Republican leaning independents. In September 58% of these voters were more enthusiastic about this election, but a new poll out has that number slipping to 49%. The Republicans are still winning in this part of the race, with the Democrats holding steady at 44%, but generally Republicans need a much stronger show of enthusiasm, which translates to votes, in order to be successful.

This is what happens when you have a GOP field with people that their party doesn’t even want. Newt Gingrich is like a cancer to the right and they just flat out hate Mitt Romney. I’ve said numerous times before that the state of the GOP is really sad when they can’t find a viable candidate to take on President Obama, especially given his very low popularity and the state of our economy.

Wouldn’t it be nice if this was the start of the end of political parties?
