RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman On Today’s
Announcement By Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald

WASHINGTON -RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman issued the following statement
regarding today’s announcement by special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald.

“Scooter Libby is a good and capable man who has given many years of his
life to serve our nation. Mr. Libby is entitled to his day in court to
answer the charges against him, receive a full airing of all the facts and
is innocent until proven otherwise.

“While some Democrats have acted irresponsibly in regards to this matter
from the beginning, the President and Republicans in Congress have and will
continue to focus on the American people’s priorities: strengthening the
economy, winning the War on Terror, lowering energy costs and improving our
schools.”

So Kenny-boy, Clinton also served his country well (very well according to
the polls throughout his time as President) yet your party continued to attack
him. Also, the Democrats acted irresponsible during this? Is questioning issues
of national security and intelligence during a time of war so irresponsible? I
guess according to your twisted views, the law is only meant to go after the
other party and not those inside of yours. Fitzgerald said it best when he said
“we are a country of laws and make sure them laws are enforced”. Perhaps you
should of taken notes there Mehlman.
