Gov. Joe Manchin of West Virginia has just ordered all mines to cease
operations pending safety checks. The order follows the death of two more miners
today in separate incidents.

It is nice to see Gov. Manchin take such a serious stance on this and make
this order. I am sure there will be some back lash from the mining executives
but something needs to be done.

The Associated Press has more on this story. The length of the shut down is unknown at this time. It might have an interesting effect on the stock market tomorrow.
