It has been a year since I moved from Blogger to a private hosting. At that time I decided upon WordPress to power the blog. I was happy with that solution, but not happy enough. Now we have IntoxiNation 3.0, which is powered by Drupal.

There is still some work to be done, but I decided it was time to make the move. I have exhausted all my testing scenarios that I could come up with on my private server so now we get the real world test. If you notice any problems then please contact me via the contact form link to the right.

IntoxiNation is now more of a “social networking” site. We are still a blog, but we now have much more. Here are some of the features.

Blogs

All previous members and new members now can maintain their own blog/diary on the site. Simply register for an account (old WordPress accounts still work) and you are ready to go. All new blog entries appear in the right side bar and the top blogs will get promoted to the front page.

Forums

The old forums are no longer. We now have an integrated forum system (still adding sections to it). On the old system users needed to maintain separate logins for both the site and forums. Now your site login works for everything!

Link Swap

We are now like Digg with a blog feel. Users can submit links along with a short description. Those items get listed in the Link Swap where users can vote on the best submissions. Top news and blogs will get promoted to the hot box in the upper right corner.

Aggregator

The aggregator retrieves update posts from blogs and sites around the world. The most recent progressive blog entries are listed on the right. Viewing the aggregator page will show you all the categories.

Vote on Content

All registered users can vote on content around the site. Simply clicking the “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” for that post, forum entry or comment gives it a plus or minus rating.

Private Messaging System

IntoxiNation has a private messaging system for registered users. This allows users to communicate with one another without the need of exposing email addresses.
