According To Republicans Obama Became President In 2007

Idiotic liars! This bullshit is getting ridiculous. When you talk about the economy the GOP wants to make you think that everything was rip roaring up until January 20th, 2009 and then tragedy struck. Obama took office and instantly our economy crashed.
They don’t acknowledge or admit that the problems started long before that, like in 2007 when countless economists said we were entering a recession. Even during the summer of 2008 Republicans were adamantly denying the economic turmoil we were in. And they totally ignore the fact that their nominee for President in 2008, John McCain, made an unprecedented move to suspend his campaign to work on the economic crisis less than two months before election day.
No – these people live in a fantasy world built with lies. Take the report on the loss of American wealth I posted about earlier. The report covers 2007-2010. Now look how the right wing blogs report it.

That last one really gets me. Apparently they forget that in 2008, when the collapse really hit, George Bush was still President. In 2009, when President Obama took over, the right made it their mission to see Obama “fail”. Even Rush Limbaugh aired his desire to see this and any Republican lawmaker that went against him appeared on his radio show to apologize the next day.
So I say let’s blame them all. Yes President Obama does deserve blame here. Hell I’ve given it to him time and time again. But George Bush also deserves blame. He was the man in the Oval Office when the collapse hit. Doesn’t the buck stop there?
But also deserving blame is the GOP. These are people who rather see the country enter a second Great Depression than have a President from the other party pull us back from the brink. They went into full obstructionist mode and they succeeded, engaging in a record number of filibusters in 2009-2010 alone. These are the people who put party ahead of country and if your one of those unlucky ones losing your home or unable to feed your family, well so what. The last thing they need is another Democratic President coming into office and giving us a thriving economy and balanced budget. Bill Clinton did that and they hate it to this day.
So the next time some Republican complains about the economy, tell them to look in the mirror. It was their party that was in charge when this mess started and their party that has said “hell no” to any ideas that have come out on how to fix it. Even Jeb Bush has realized some of the problems, but the GOP sure as hell don’t want to hear them.
