What A Difference A Week Makes In The NSA Stuff
New revelations bring the same old questions with the Snowden files.
“If you look at the reports … what you’re not reading about is the government actually abusing these programs … what you’re hearing about is the prospect that these could be abused,” Obama said.
Those comments were made way, way back on August 9th. That’s a whole week ago! The latest revelations don’t bring up any actual abuse, but they do really add to the prospect that they could be abused, especially the revelation that oversight is only conducted on things the NSA wants oversight to be conducted on. With all the news that has come out over the past several months, I don’t think the NSA would be willing to turn over an actual abuse for FISA to look into. Instead it will be handled internally and we would never hear of it.
