It's Time To Kick People Off The Government Teet
Our country is broke and can't afford to keep supporting freeloaders, so let's make a change!
John Boehner complained last week that the unemployed are just lazy, which must also apply to our veterans, who suffer from a disproportionately higher unemployment rate than most others. Of course John Boehner made this statement right before gaveling the House into a two month recess, which just so happened to follow 8 days of work after a 6 week vacation.
Now with Eric Holder announcing his resignation, and the President wanting to fill the job for America’s top cop as quickly as possible, conservatives in Congress are scared that they might have to work.
Conservatives are warning President Obama against using a lame-duck session of Congress to push through Attorney General Eric Holder’s replacement, even as the White House signals its intention to fill the post quickly.
Holder’s announcement that he will resign as the nation’s top law enforcement officer reverberated Thursday around Washington, where speculation has already begun to mountabout who might fill the Cabinet position.
Republican lawmakers quickly vowed that whomever Obama taps would be subject to intense scrutiny following an era when the GOP was often at odds with the Justice Department.
But even if, as many predict, Republicans reclaim control of the Senate in the approaching midterm elections, they would be largely powerless to block Democrats from using their current majority to confirm an attorney general before the new Congress is gaveled into session in January.
“Rather than rush a nominee through the Senate in a lame-duck session, I hope the president will now take his time to nominate a qualified individual who can start fresh relationships with Congress so that we can solve the problems facing our country,” said Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee
Oh my God! How dare that black, Muslim, socialist, Kenyan, America hating President expect our poor members of Congress to actually work to earn those 6 digits a year and benefits!
Our country is plagued with the worst rated Congress in history, to the point that even Osama bin Laden is more liked. And with elections just a few weeks away, do Republicans try to turn around their image in Congress? Nope. Instead they rub it in our noses, because they know their jobs are pretty much safe. Gerrymandering has destroyed all accountability our Founding Fathers intended, and that has translated into a highly dangerous precedent in our democracy, one that takes it further from the will of the people.
So let’s do a big favor for people like Chuck Grassley, Ted Cruz and John Boehner and show them what real work looks like as we bust our asses to get these people the hell out of our government. They are nothing more than welfare babies that we can no longer afford to support.
