For those who have missed it, there has been a new little battle that brewed when Robert Novak told CSpan this past weekend that he would never watch Jon Stewart and referred to him as a “self-righteous comedian taking on airs of grandeur”. Think Progress has the video of Novak’s interview.

Well this week Stewart responded, and did so in his typical hilarious style. You can view this clip over at Crooks and Liars.

So why bring this up? Well I was wondering why Novak would be the target of comedians. What would provoke those in the comedy world to pick on this old guy?

Oh yeah – that is a big reason right there.
