John McCain has said we need a vice-President who can take over on day one. We have also heard on numerous occasions of how much 9/11 changed the world. So we are in this post-9/11 world, where people plan on doing bad things. That means the President is at a greater risk of being incapacitated from an act of terrorism. So shouldn’t John McCain have picked a running-mate who is ready on day 1, especially considering the heightened state of terror the world is now in?

His selection of Palin is the perfect ammunition to use against the Republicans when they try the “pre-9/11 mindset” argument.
