This is not a scandal about war, nor is it one about campaign contributions.
This scandal does not lead to the death of our soldiers or citizens of another
country. No. This scandal leads to something that will ultimately effect every
living person on this planet.
This is a scandal that involves the environment. The New York Times
reported today that a previous employee of the American Petroleum Institute, who
now works for the White House has altered government climate reports in order to
downplay links between greenhouse gas emissions and global warming.
As quoted from a
Reuters
article:
Philip Cooney, chief of staff for the White
House Council on Environmental Quality, made changes to descriptions of climate
research that had already been approved by government scientists and their
supervisors, the newspaper said, citing internal documents
Of course Scott McClellan was right on the band wagon, downplaying this
report saying it is false. He also says that “The reports are based on the best
scientific knowledge that we have at this time.”.
But isn’t it funny that the two top people in our country, Mr. Bush and Mr.
Cheney, become the men they are today because of the oil industry. They both
have very deep ties to the oil and petroleum industry and that is a well known
fact.
So this leads to another example of (pardon my French) FUCK THE PEOPLE.
That’s right the administration has done absolutely nothing for the people of
this country but continue to screw us over every time we get so them and their
friends can get richer. This latest scandal only proves more so that they do not
care one bit about America or its environment. Instead they care about their
wallets and that will mean nothing when they are gone.
