President Bush’s speech on Tuesday night was the kind of acting job you would
expect a back drop of porn music too. He acted out his reasons for the war in
Iraq which have changed time and time again. Shortly paused by one short round
of applause that was reported by two major news networks as being queued, then
ending with what was one of the fakest fighting back of tears I have ever seen.

Throughout the course of his 30 minute waste of primetime, the President
eluded to September 11 a total of five times. His acting job is hindering the
factual job. Americans already know that Iraq had no involvement with September
11, and the continual attempt to make such a connection just reminded us more of
how we have opened Iraq up to Al Qaeda. The President effectively increased the
size of the waste pile that I know call “bushit”.

This “catapulting of propaganda”, to quote our President, proceeded with the
continue assertion of the growing number of security forces in Iraq. This has
been an on going controversy and was addressed by Donald Rumsfeld last week when
he gave testimony to a Congressional oversight committee. Secretary Rumsfeld
made a strong point in clearing up the fact the Security forces are a composite
of many different facets of Iraq’s government. They compose of police, border
patrol, and military. The fact is Iraq is only sitting on approximately 30,000
military forces right now and we have said they will need ten times that before
we can even consider leaving.

This did not stop good old Dubya though as he was stealing the airwaves from
reality TV. He used the term security forces a total of 11 times to make it
sound like our progress is great than what it really is. This piss-poor acting
job is going to lead to nothing more than continued debates over what is truly
going on in Iraq.

The President stood strong behind his plan of “no plan”. He reasserted that
any timetable would be a terrible mistake as the insurgents would then resort to
out waiting us. This of course leads people to now believe that the Iraqi people
will never be able to take over the security of their newly founded democratic
nation. I don’t think the opposing members of Congress who are calling for a
timetable are saying “let’s leave the lambs to the slaughter”. They want a
timetable in which we would have Iraqi forces trained. Deadlines are made all
the time. It is a part of daily life. One would be very applicable in this
setting. It is however evident that Bush does not want us to leave considering
the fact he has turned down numerous offers for helping with the training of
Iraqi forces.

His closing comments, which were compounded by his failing attempt to hold
back a fake tear, made me want to throw tomatoes at the television and cry foul.
Renee Zellweger has done a better job at the fake cries during her numerous
Hollywood award acceptance speeches. He thanked our troops, and that is
something I would have to hold as sincere. I believe our troops have done an
outstanding job. They are doing a task that should have never been asked of
them. They are fighting in a war that is strictly motivated by the greed of
their commander in chief and his administration. They are being fed rancid food
by KBR so that the profits of its parent company, Halliburton, can go up and the
stock options for Dick Cheney can continue to grow in wealth. They are in a
country where we have over stayed our welcome in the middle of a region that
hates Americans.

George Bush could do a better job of thanking them by telling the truth to
Americans and proceed to plan an exit strategy. His speech would have been much
more receptive to the American people if he would have made one simple statement
such as; “War is meant with many uncertainties. We have faced these. We have
seen Al Qaeda turn Iraq into its new training ground and further exploit the
lives of the Iraqi’s. This was a terrible oversight on the part of my
administration but it is an oversight we are willing to repair”. That would have
given the President some of that political capital he brags so much about. It is
a solemn statement taking claim for some problems we have met with in the war
and giving a decision to repair it.

We are continually thrown lies and acts of denial by this President, which is
part of the reason his approval rating is now at the lowest it has ever been for
a sitting President. He came into office promising to restore accountability to
the White House. Instead he has instituted an administration that confuses facts
with fiction. He has taken an occasional use of spin and turned it into his
daily tool when dealing with the media. He has dishonored the office of
President and the people of this country.

George, I know your father served as vice-President to a former actor. You
may have looked up to Ronald Regan, but that does not make you an actor. Leave
the acting to Hollywood and run this country. You are a leader, but the only
thing you have done in your Presidency is divide. You have divided the greatest
nation this planet has ever known!!!!

On a closing note, as I said in my previous post; “We watched hoping for
encouragement on Tuesday. What we got was a half time show with no nipple and
one big boob!”
