Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham allegedly demanded and recieved a bribe from a
Pentagon contractor. Duke’s defense is trying to play it down since the
allegations did not come in the form of an indictment.

“This complaint is not a serious legal filing; it’s a public relations
exercise, It cites no testimony, no documents – in short, no evidence. Duke
Cunningham strongly denies these allegations and we will contest them in court
as soon as the judge permits us to do so.”

That was the statement released by Duke’s lawyers.

Duke is just one of the numerous Republican’s drowning in scandal, however he
appears to be the lone scandal. All the other scandals surrounding the GOP seem
to involve the vast fortunes of Jack Abramoff, while the Duke seemed to go out
on his own to create his own scandal.

This is just furter evidence of the corruption that seems to follow the
Republican party as they continue to ruin our country. Further evidence into
their concern of personal wealth over the betterment of the country can be seen
in legislation passed by this Congress. Every bill passed has benefited the
corporations of the country while none have benefited the common working person.
In short, this is the corporations Congress.
