Perjury? Obstruction of Justice? Sounds like charges that are being talked
about in the Valerie Plame leak case. These same charges could come to Ohio
though. Governor Bob Taft was convicted of four counts of failing to report
donations and gifts yesterday. Now he could face the same charges that are being
talked about in the Valerie Plame case.

Tom Noe, who is at the center of coingate, reportedly met with Taft in May
2001 to discuss the operation of Coin Fund One, which invested Bureau of Workers
Compensation funds into rare coins. The statement was made yesterday by William
Wilkinson, Noe’s attorney.

Bob Taft has stated he did not know of the investments until he read it in a
newspaper report this past April. This now leads to the question of who is
lying. Taft has agreed to assist the prosecutor in this case, and if he is lying
about his knowledge of the scandal, he would be obstructing the investigation.

investments until April. The
