Why Taft Should Resign (Petition Domain Name Added)

Article 2, Section 24 of the Ohio State Constitution states: The governor, judges, and all state officers, may be impeached for any misdemeanor in office; but judgment shall not extend further than removal from office, and disqualification to hold any office under the authority of this state. Article 2, Section 24 of the Ohio State Constitution states:

The governor, judges, and all state officers, may be impeached for any
misdemeanor in office; but judgment shall not extend further than removal from
office, and disqualification to hold any office under the authority of this
state. The party impeached, whether convicted or not, shall be liable to
indictment, trial, and judgment, according to law.

Furthermore, under section 38 of the same article, it reads:

Laws shall be passed providing for the prompt removal from office, upon
complaint and hearing, of all officers, including state officers, judges and
members of the general assembly, for any misconduct involving moral turpitude
or for other cause provided by law; and this method of removal shall be in
addition to impeachment or other method of removal authorized by the
constitution.

Bob Taft, by his plead of no-contest and ultimate conviction on all four
counts of failing to report gifts constitutes the violation of these sections of
the state constitution, namely section 24. Yesterday, Bob Taft was convicted of
four misdemeanors and should be removed from office immediately.

Bob Taft’s latest approval ratings are at 17%, which is the lower Governor
approval in the country. He has lead this state into a dark void with its
crumbling economy, and it is time for him to vacate the office so Ohio can start
repairing its self.

Yesterday, I started a petition to have Taft resign from office. Today I set
up a domain for it so that people can more easily access it. I am currently
trying to get more press on this issue via radio and print. Please help spread
the word to get this information out so I can receive enough signatures to
deliver the petition to the Governor. I will be delivering this petition, both
by mail and email. The new URL is:
